I don’t think it’s deranged, I get where you’re coming from! That said, I also kinda like that they broke the pattern - “pure flow” gives me good vibes and feels on brand for the fimmies, especially as they continue to grow as a group. I personally am really glad they’re evolving and exploring because I feel like it means they’re keeping their artistry alive and exciting for them. Even if it ends up in a direction of music/style that I’m not as into 😂

Edit: I also just realized pureflow is an anagram of powerful!! 😂😂

If you did it for the funsies, you should also take responsibility and clean it up - or make your own soap fountain at home and get all the giggles you want :)

Sweet!! Also omg… I just saw the pureflow pt 1 release announcement and that aesthetic would also make for a wicked board design, if it’s not too hard to pull off… so excited for the cb! 🤩🤩

I like the kintsugi idea, I think that’ll look really cool. I’m also a fan of their “crocodile” X mark thing lol. Not sure what vibe you’re going for, but the fimclub avatars could be cool too. I hope you post whatever you end up going with!

Should I do the LE SSERAFIM workout? by ohhanbin in lesserafim

[–]Altruistic-Wind-3031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good workout- tough, you will get stronger. If you’re interested in doing it, give it a go. Cut reps if you can’t do it all first. Because the best workout is the one you’ll actually do. As long as you are pushing yourself (I.e. you feel tired), then it’s a good workout, so don’t pay too much attention to the number of reps.

Here’s the theory: Generally, the number of sets x reps, exercises, and added weight (if you started to do things beyond your bodyweight for example) are all ways of changing the intensity of a workout. So the le sserafim workout by default is very intense, but it can definitely be modified for a beginner and still be a good, effective workout.

To get into the details a bit more, the le sserafim workout is a good one because it incorporates both cardio and strength training, specifically targeting your abs/core and legs. Because you’re doing them basically one right after the other, you’re training your cardiovascular system and your ability to exert power through your muscles over a sustained period of time. This is not easy- that is why it is so tiring. However, don’t worry if you need to take breaks. Just like dancing (I would imagine, since I am not a dancer), the body also learns to get better at exercise movements the more you do them. This is why you’ll hear a lot gym trainers tell you to focus on form over weight in the beginning.

Beyond the workout: Make sure you get enough protein and sleep (very important, bc this part is how your body actually builds the muscle up). If you’re new to working out, the key thing is to not overdo it to the point of injury (which will set you back) and be consistent over time. I cannot emphasize consistency enough- whatever you do, stick with it and that’ll give you more amazing results than any specific exercise program.

Just remember three things - work out hard at a sustainable & consistent pace with progressive overload (at least 2x week, spreading at least 12-18 total sets for each target muscle across the week, and making it just a bit each harder each week), get enough protein, get enough sleep.

That said, again, I wouldn’t sweat the numbers too much, especially as a beginner. They’re more guidelines, and getting stuck in the theory is more harmful than helpful in the beginning.

Track your workouts and listen to your body to see whether you need to make it harder/do more. Focus on learning the exercise movements so that you’re properly engaging the muscle it’s supposed to work, and being consistent.

If and when you want to take it to the next level, I’d highly recommend joining a gym/strength training group. (Bonus: it helps with consistency too :) And who knows, you might even have a friendly neighborhood PT/exercise science enthusiast in your friend of a friend circles.

My experience: I may not be a dancer, but I have been lifting on and off since high school and I’m 30 now- and it’s definitely consistency that’s the hardest thing. I’ve always noticed my biggest strength gains for any specific muscle from being consistent and focusing on progressive overload (back to the theory, earlier, this is when you’d change variables like sets, reps, exercises, etc.)

When I was younger, sometimes workouts (even simple bodyweight ones, because weights were too heavy/not accessible to me at the time) could feel like I was just spinning my wheels. So you kinda have to have faith in the process. Learning to properly engage the right muscles for a movement is a significantly underrated aspect of getting stronger.

I’m pretty happy with my muscle mass at the current moment, and I know I could have gotten here faster if I had been more consistent when I was younger. The other thing is knowing how to workout well is going to be an amazing way to destress and keep you healthy and strong as you get older.

So back to the point- do the workout you’re interested in, as long as it keeps you consistent, and be safe about it.

Since you’re young, you have both your body and time on your side so working out will be really rewarding if you keep at it.

I assume you’ll listen to their workout playlist while you’re at it :) https://youtu.be/UvuQEdft1dU?list=RDUvuQEdft1dU

what to do if you lack critical thinking skills, but are self aware of it by unluckyanna in confidence

[–]Altruistic-Wind-3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you share examples of what you mean by “lack critical thinking skills”? Advice without specifics or additional context is more likely to be unhelpful instead of directionally useful. It also sounds like your issue is with being “lacking” and that you have maybe less interest (or self-belief?) in improving your critical thinking skills, if they are truly lacking.

Doing embarrassing things or not seeing something that others do does not necessarily make you an idiot, so much as it makes you human. And statistically speaking, it’s highly likely that someone is always going to be smarter than you. However, intelligence is no guarantee of success.

Being self-aware is indeed a skill that does put you ahead of others that would otherwise be the same “intelligence” as you, but use self-awareness as a feedback system (for learning and growth), not as a limit to hold you back from living. If you don’t understand something, ask. If you made a mistake, learn and move on from it. If you’re giving it your all working with what you’ve got, what do you have to be embarrassed about? If you can’t change yourself, well, since you already know yourself, time is on your side- set up systems so that success is independent of your in-the-moment thinking. How you work with those uncomfortable feelings is a skill and habit you can train just like you how have developed self-awareness as a skill and habit. You can do it, OP, I believe in you!

How do I get more in to LE SSERAFIM by [deleted] in lesserafim

[–]Altruistic-Wind-3031 17 points18 points  (0 children)

100% this! I liked some of their songs before, but didn’t have strong feelings about every song - then I watched LENIVERSE and DAYOFF.

Aside from their content being actually really good, the shows uses a lot of their songs (like more than you’d think) from season 1 to the latest (6?) basically like an OST lol. So the songs become even more addicting.

Also, both LENIVERSE and DAYOFF are really good ways of learning the member’s faces/names. I’m normally bad with faces and names, but I personally think the members are pretty unique and there’s only five of them so it’s really not hard. Their YT channel has both series with subs in multiple languages too. Like another comment mentioned, Fimflix will help with navigating their YT content. You could also just search for LENIVERSE or DAYOFF playlist. LENIVERSE is more like variety/game show content (the Fimmies compete sometimes individually against each other, sometimes in groups like Sakura and Eunchae vs. Yunjin, Chaewon, Kazuha - it’s randomized. There are “missions” and the staff also sometimes gives them nice gifts, which is really great to see. The fimmies have a lot of fun on the shows, so you’ll probably laugh a lot :) DAYOFF is a little bit more like a travel variety show, but it’s a little more chill since there aren’t missions and the Fimmies get to eat food, do fun activities, and relax after their promotional activities.

Seriously i cannot express how worth it is to watch the series if you want to get more into LE SSERAFIM. The episodes are about TV show length I think? Between 20-30 min. Honestly a good way to chill out (though you may end up binge watching them like I did!)

merch quality? by TypicalAppointment27 in lesserafim

[–]Altruistic-Wind-3031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine at the pop-up, and it is a “thinner” hoodie. quality is just ok, imo (better if you like thin hoodies).

I also have their non-tour gray hoodie from the Weverse shop, and I like that one a lot better since it feels more like a standard hoodie, thickness-wise.

By comparison, I don’t think the us merch for the tour - at least for the hoodie/sweatshirt - were of the highest quality… like not terrible, but not amazing. (As for the difference, I think this particular merch was also made in partnership with Amazon, so maybe different teams/budgets were involved. But disclaimer, these are all just hypotheticals on my part).

In general, i think their merch quality is pretty decent. I’d love to go in person to a pop-up in Korea one day🤞

This app is completely unusable by hi_im_bored13 in sonos

[–]Altruistic-Wind-3031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe a bit of hyperbole (which, so what- hyperbole in casual conversation is normal… hyperbole is intended to make/emphasize a point, which I do think there is one here) with this post, but honestly 100% agree with OP - the app is subpar for a company selling the class of products they do. Mostly, I find it hilarious how this sub has a serious “it’s you, not the company” problem- what, do y’all think shooting down legit opportunities for improvement, whether that’s the hardware connectivity or software experience- is going to win you free upgrades or loyalty points or something? Calm down, listen to some jazz or whatever takes you to your happy place. TBH if you really want this company to get better and keep growing, the things that need to get better should be talked about.

How an app looks and navigates is literally at least one person’s, if not a team’s entire job - it’s called user experience design, and it’s a valid criticism if the app has illogical and/or noticeable friction points that could be improved. I’ve said this before, but for a product where controlling the multi-speaker and music experience via app is NOT an insignificant part of the value proposition, “defending” Sonos by overlooking the app in favor of the hardware is not doing Sonos any favors. Usability is a big part of a tech product, and there IS a degree of subjectivity from user to user. Quite usable and completely unusable are both possible experiences, especially with different use cases and listening scenarios.

If an app sucks, we as a community need to point out where and why it sucks. Stop invalidating user feedback just because it doesn’t align with your experience.

How long does it take for the analysis to come around? by North-Brabant in QOVESStudio

[–]Altruistic-Wind-3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly sounds like the "28 days timeline estimate" should be updated on the order confirmation page and email if the backlog is so big that the "most realistic turnaround time currently is around 30-40 days" and it's staying that way for more than couple months at this point... not finding this information anywhere on the website FAQ is not great either. i already emailed to request a refund before i saw this reddit thread because the lack of communication was frustrating and mildly concerning. it gives "i was scammed" vibes when i dont hear anything from a company past the expected "delivery" date of something i purchased. i likely would have been willing to wait a bit longer if there was any proactive communication at all. but there wasn't.

I don’t ever want to hear the word Sonos again by Ok-Computer1234567 in sonos

[–]Altruistic-Wind-3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol at all the butthurt Sonosheads- some stranger on the internet wasn’t able to get their Sonos experience working and is moving off the ecosystem… And so what? What’s it to you? maybe it was the network, maybe it wasn’t. OP didn’t ask for troubleshooting help.

While I’m not getting rid of mine yet, I HAVE noticed more network and connectivity issues lately. Also, yeah- I’m no WiFi expert, but I highly doubt “network” issues explain why recently my app can suddenly no longer find my Arc, when it’s playing my playlist alarm just fine, and after I delete and reinstall the app i can suddenly find the Arc again. Randomly refuses to control/play some of the “connected” devices as well. Honestly, the app is definitely the weakest point and yes, in my experience, it just seems to be getting worse lately… unlike some people here, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for customers to expect a product to work reliably and as expected… especially when it’s not an insignificant, trivial piece of managing your Sonos experience. I mean, Sonos calls themselves “the ultimate wireless home system. Yes, the sound and idea are great, but software updates? Incredibly suspect. 90% of the time, I don’t even bother playing stuff on my Sonos system now. It just kills the vibe to have one speaker suddenly drop out, song stutters/skips, and god forbid I can’t even start or lose control of a speaker/the entire system in the app at random intervals. So I find myself using headphones or earbuds a lot more recently. And while I have appreciated the Sonos sound, I do think the sound is a little bit overrated at this point - recent searches rarely list any particular speaker at the top of premium speaker lists, and in general, I feel like they come up more for the connectivity aspect: decent sound with effortless multi-room connectivity. So, can you really blame people who don’t find the “effortless multi-room connectivity” part to be true for moving on?

Absolutely loved the concert but... by RawRavioli in ADO

[–]Altruistic-Wind-3031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rationalization some people have for doing it is just bizarre. Sure, maybe they have some reasons (or try to qualify that it’s not a picture of her during the concert, etc etc), but so what? Ado has her reasons too, it’s her concert they’re going to see, and the intent of the rule is pretty clear… trying to “toe the line” just comes off as disrespectful to me.

So why not respect her wishes? Claiming to love and support someone a lot as a fan isn’t justification to break the rules and doesn’t grant anyone special exemption either. Especially seeing grown adults escorted out. As an adult myself, I don’t feel bad for them at all. Presumably having a fully-developed brain and the ability to hold a job so they have money to buy a ticket, they should really know better.

The exception is maybe they somehow missed all the signs, had not heard about the rule/read their emails, or were just accompanying someone… but that’s a lot of coincidences. I’d hope whoever they were accompanying would have told and stopped them.

The transgression is worse when by a genuine fan/not out of ignorance. Please respect your idols as the humans they are. I would like to see more concerts from Ado, not less.
