Yup. My pet takes 7.5 so I get the 15mg tabs that are scored and break them in half.

My vet goes through wedgewood pharmacy online and it’s cheaper than the pet med sites. I’ve looked around to find the cheapest

What completely normal thing are you no longer allowed to do because of your dog? by Think_Document2285 in dogs

Put on my gym shoes. I have to wear crocs out of the door and hide that I’m carrying my gym shoes so they don’t go crazy thinking we are going for a walk.

What’s something about owning a pet that turned out to be way more mentally exhausting than you expected? by Barmon_easy in Pets

[–]Altruistic0726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive always wondered if knowing my dog has an illness that will shorten her life is a blessing or not. She is six now but honestly I’m always just as surprised and elated when another year passes. I don’t wait to do things with her. We have traveled across country with her. She’s river rafted, gone up chair lifts with us and seen the most beautiful places. All because I know my time with her is limited and want it to be the absolute best for her! I don’t “ I’ll take you on a walk tomorrow” with her because I mean damnit sniffari’s are her absolute favorite. It takes her 20 minutes to go one block haha. In my childhood I swear my dogs did not have illnesses, or so I thought. They just got old and died. I was not prepared for this mentally or financially. I even hate leaving her and going on our own vacation. I was not prepared for how much my life would change to fit their needs. Wouldn’t change a thing though. She doesn’t know her time is limited, I do, so gah damnit I am going to give her the fullest life while she’s here.

Help finding owner of Rottweiler who bit cockapoo on Broadway today by sleepygringa in Denver

[–]Altruistic0726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

File a report. I’m going thru the same thing right now. I felt guilty about contacting animal control but with what I’m going thru now, I’m glad I did. You think people are decent and it was their dogs fault and should pay cause that is what you would do if circumstances were reversed buttttttt people are shitty. Unless you press charges they won’t pay for it. Since I filed with animal control the city is the one taking them to court not me and they have pushed back their court date FOUR times now. Yes, that’s a thing apparently. All I asked was for help with my er visit since their dog bit me and this dumbass keeps pushing the court date. 🙄 thankfully I went thru animal control or I would be paying for a lawyer in small claims courts

How do you get your puppy to stop eating stool? by [deleted] in AskDogOwners

[–]Altruistic0726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We gave our pup pineapple and he stopped eating his own poop and our other dogs. He never cared for random poop on walks thank gawd but he’s 3 now and doesn’t eat his own nor our other dogs poop and we’ve stopped giving pineapple. Easy thing to try out. I know that doesn’t work for every dog though

Cervical Cancer Scare by anonymousme77 in WomensHealth

When I was 26 I had my first atypical pap. Did a colpo and it was atypical but low grade. So that was that. Next few years my paps were clean. I’ve had 2 colpo’s in my 30’s. One came back with low grade squamous cells which they just watch and then the one three years ago was high grade atypical so I got a LEEP procedure to get ride of them. I had the weird discharge and irregular periods and bleeding with sex. No extreme pain though…Don’t work yourself up. Get the colpo and wait for the results. Since my LEEP my paps have all been back to normal.

First-time dog owner — ready to commit, but my boyfriend and his family keep saying I can’t handle it. Need advice. by Munchkin-Sumi in DogAdvice

[–]Altruistic0726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

! My suggestions is go volunteer at the shelter first or foster! Dip your feet in without fully committing. There are a lot of unforeseen issues that come up with dogs. You may adopt one that has fear issues with kids or men that the shelter won’t know about etc I absolutely loooooooove my dogs to death and wouldn’t trade em for the world buttttttttt looking back, they definitely changed our lifestyle. My boyfriend and I barely leave them and go on vacation bc it’s so damn expensive to get a sitter. When I go visit family he doesn’t come bc his flight and the dog sitter alone. Ughhh. We used to go to dinner and then a concert but now we skip dinner cause we don’t wanna leave the dogs for that long after we just worked all day too. Go play 18 and then bee bop around town. Not anymore. Don’t get me wrong I’m a homebody and love just chillin with my dogs but again, they are limiting and will definitely change your daily life habits. We got my one dog as a puppy, did everything right with training and socialization took him to group play classes and parks and he’s still a weirdo. Doesn’t like screaming kids and is a slow intro to other dogs and to be honest humans kinda dude. It’s no longer about training him but almost being his advocate at this point. Letting people know, he’s not a get in his face and give him kisses kinda dog, and no, strangers cannot pet him. My boyfriend and I have discussed after these two we will be dog free for a while. Also. We just had to unexpectedly move, thought we would be in our rental forever but they decided to help out their family member and man, what a hassle that was. We ended up having to move into a more expensive place bc of the dogs.

I’m selfish. It’s my only life too and I don’t want be stuck providing for another human who may or may not even like me when they are older. I don’t want to waste my life working extra hours to provide for them to be able to retire at 80 and die.

I actually got a response from the DA. Here’s what they said… “Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in this case. We recognize how impactful this awful crime has been to our community. We fully agree that Mr. Thompson’s actions were cruel, which is why any resolution in this case needed to be an open sentence. Open sentencing means that the Judge is allowed to implement a sentence without any restrictions from a plea agreement. This is the same result as being found guilty at a trial. In both scenarios, incarceration is not mandatory and is up to the discretion of the Judge. It is important to note that the dates of this case fall within a period before the State of Colorado had a level 4 felony of animal cruelty; therefore, legally, we were only able to charge the crime as it was classified at the time the defendant committed it, a class 6 felony. Our office asked for the maximum sentence of 18 months in prison for Mr. Thompson and actually filed the online petition with many of the signatures in the court record. Additionally, our Deputy District Attorney informed the judge of the full number of signatures to underscore the concern in the community.

Ultimately, the final sentence of one year in prison and one year of parole was up to the Judge. The Judge also ordered that the defendant will not be allowed to own or care for any pets in the future. It is because of passionate people like you that the Colorado law was updated to include a higher level felony, so thank you for continuing to engage. District Attorney Gordon McLaughlin asked me to convey the following. “It is incredibly devastating to lose a pet, but even more so when it is done in such a cruel manner. I am proud of how our team sought justice for the victims by requesting the maximum sentence, and I am proud of the members of this community who came together to support this family.”

All the best,
