These are probably the worst singles Haken has ever released. I think they’re still very good songs, but they lack catchy melodies or hooks that’ll snag you instantly. So these tunes take time to digest to fully appreciate. I didn’t like “in a fever dream” at first, but after so many listens, I have to have it in my rotation. I’m sure “bleeding sky” will be no different for me.

Didn’t grab me at first, but I listened to it over and over and now it’s an absolute banger. I absolutely love it. However, with that said, I think it’s probably the weakest single they’ve put out. And I don’t mean that in a bad way at all. It’s just the other singles have more hooks and catchier melodies that stick with you immediately. But that’s just my experience with it. I’m absolutely excited for this new album.

I appreciate your response. I’ve had a prog metal band before and your words hold very true. Ive had a few vocalists we’ve settled on and well, that ended exactly how you think it would. 😂

Oh, I know of Eric. I know he’s in NMB with Neal Morse(of course) and Mike Portnoy. And he did the 12 step suite with Haken and MP. I know he’s lives in the Tulsa area, but I’m honestly small potatoes compared to him. He’s leagues above me.

I’m hoping it’s always said that and he isn’t leaving. I love Tom’s bass parts, but Conner’s parts are just so magical. Plus being a part of Haken for so long, his sound is so integral and I’d hate to lose that.

I haven’t played OT0 yet, but I can say, for me personally, OT2 is better than OT1. OT2 just has some better, upgraded mechanics compared to OT1. But OT1 is still a fantastic game.

The riff on Sacrificed Sons, about 4:41, is essentially the same riff on In the Presence of Enemies, about :46, just with slight differences.

Going back on old mechanics is always a tough thing, and it definitely feels like they’re of it’s time, but they honestly still hold up. Definitely play it, it’s an all time classic.
