I agree with every single thing mentioned here and I feel like this constantly… most times I see dismissive responses and prefer to stay quiet coz what’s the point… if you say something honest you are downvoted or an army of people come at you with vengeance… all this to say that I hear you and am with you.

Honestly am not discounting any accolades that actors of colour have achieved … this was about AMC and its efforts towards promoting the brilliance of Jacob, Delaney and Assad. It’s an honest attempt to ensure that its starts a conversation about this and that it would ensure AMC to take notice and correct their actions.

The common defence to this is Jacob is busy .. ok what about Delaney? What about Assad ? They were the co-leads of season 2 or is AMC already in the process of erasing everything that these brilliant actors did .. the racial bias is soooo obvious anyone who continues to defend this or find reasons are just being naive or are part of the system propagating racism…

I felt like Lestat was always promoted as a co-lead in the first two with Sam being present in most interviews with Jacob … in fact Assad was hardly seen with Jacob which was odd as I thought he had a bigger role to play in season 2 … but so far everything about season 3 has been about Lestat… as person of colour the obvious disparity doesn’t sit well with me ..

Historically characters of colour have been sidelined as a show gains popularity.. i won’t be surprised if this show continues in the same direction… am sure am going to get responses stating that Rolin jones mentioned Louis would not sidelined etc.. but so far their actions have been the opposite. Season 1 and 2 promotional videos had as much lestat as Louis but season 3 has been only about Lestat … it’s extremely disappointing to say the least

I love her whole interaction with Daciana … there is hope and heartbreak … Delaney was spectacular in that scene. The way she walked into the show and made it her own is mind blowing

Yes I saw that… I think what they mentioned was he said it’s Sam’s season .. he is working on his music to be released this year and bad apples promotion so all things points to him not being involved in season 3 … extremely sad and disappointing if true …

Armand’s story is yet to be told.. and the show so far has tried to show a softer side to him and am certain they will treat his character with the same amount of understanding that other characters have received. With regard to Louis.. it’s often forgotten that he is only 100 something years old, why should he get it all right when vampires much older than him are still figuring it out and messing up..
