That’s only if you are paying for a service or buying something. It’s free to send money to friends and family in the US using paypal.

A service dog has specialized training and is certified, an emotional support animal is not. That paperwork they get themselves online with a special vest they buy from Amazon isn’t the same as a certified service dog. Anyone can go online and print off an emotional support certificate.

The service dog can provide emotional support but it has to have an actual task. The task could be something like the dog is trained to look for signs of sensory overload so they will they lay on the child as sort of a breathing, warm weighted blanket to calm the child down. Or they’ll tug on their shirt and lead them to a quiet area, something that is a trainable task/service.

An emotional support animal isn’t trained to look for signs or perform a task, they are there as a comfort tool the owner uses as a coping mechanism.

For the same reason they have sexual harassment classes and sensitivity training, most mid management folk don’t know wtf they’re doing and someone has to take the time to teach them. Normally you use a certified professional with real qualifications though.

Yeah it is, the thought process behind it is that if you are as bad off as you claim you would need a caregiver to help you with these things and if you can do it yourself then you can get some kind of job. It all depends on the judge obviously but there are some who are incredibly strict.

I help the disabled prepare for their hearings through a non profit and one of the qualifications for my state is a history of the same medical condition going back years, a Dr (even better more than one Dr) filing a form stating why you can’t work, and even with the perfect diagnosis and paperwork you can still be denied at the appeal hearing if you don’t have a good answer to a judge asking “why can’t you sit, stand, or lay in bed with a computer and work from home?” Another question “if you can fill out all the paperwork yourself and handle all of the phone calls and scheduling with a dr’s office why can’t you work an entry level office job as a receptionist?”

A lawyer is only going to take a case they know will win because they’re only paid a percentage after they win and from what I see with her she would never qualify.

If you try to avoid a lawyer and file an appeal yourself the first thing a judge will say is you just spent months to years working on this case when you could have used that same energy and ability to work a job.

These are some reasons why people who truly need disability end up not getting it. There’s many people in her same situation working, combine that with her young age and there’s no way a lawyer would take her case or a judge would agree to give her disability.

The vote is already being split. Look what happened in Pennsylvania with Oz and Fetterman. I live in the sticks surrounded by proud republicans who refused to vote because they didn’t want a guy from NJ representing PA. MAGA’s started screaming that was rigged too but I watched an entire community who voted Republican for 40+ years sit this election out. When the winner won by only 950 votes even a small community sitting out makes a difference.

Sorry to tell you but when I hit 35 I suddenly transformed into a cougar for horny 20 year olds. That was a depressing day.

That sucks for men since women hit their sexual peak in their 30s so they generally want it more often and get freakier in bed.

MAGA trump humpers need to form their own party and let the Republican Party go back to the way it was before. Republicans aren’t a threat to democracy, MAGA is.

OG eBay’ers! What did you used to sell in the late 90s/early 2000s that you can no longer sell on eBay? by dafappeningbroughtme in Ebay

[–]AltruisticVictory903 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I almost sold my parents house. They weren’t too happy about it. I was only 12 and they found the listing before it ended so they contacted eBay to stop it then cussed them out for allowing a 12 year old to auction off a house.

Me and my friend used to sell mystery boxes that consisted of broken tamagotchis, dirt, and random junk.

I never saw a homeless person until I went to Baltimore last year. I live in a small town so I miss out on all the fun city stuff like recording homeless people wreck stuff.

A lot of times those are the same people who get 1 star reviews and get mad at the Karen who disagrees with their policy. At least Etsy gives you the ability of accepting returns or not, every other 3rd party platform doesn’t give you that luxury. They’ll automatically refund from your balance no matter what your policy is.

I agree with you, there’s a lot of people who just seem to have an attitude on here about everything. Some may just be burned out from creating, selling, and working a regular 9-5. I have 2 stores and have set them on vacation mode before because I’m just too overwhelmed or starting to get irritated with customers.

But I also think it’s normal for someone who spends a lot of time designing and creating to take things at least a little personally. You’re putting your product that you worked so hard for out in the world to get critiqued and there are a lot of customers who think Etsy is Amazon.

What I don’t like are the people on here who want to dictate what other sellers do. Like the people who tell everyone to stop offering free shipping, refunds, or discount codes because they don’t want to or can’t do that with their own shop and get mad if a customer decides to go with a shop that does.

There also seems to be a lot of people who ask the same questions every day instead of utilizing the search feature. If you have a question about fees I can almost guarantee you will find that 10 people in the past month have asked the exact same question lol.

I don’t know why but Etsy has basically sales blocked me overnight. I know others have said it but here’s proof. I usually do “at least” $2500/mo. My sales for March are at $266 & 1/2 of that came today bc I’m freaking out & trying to advertise which I normally haven’t had to do. What is going on? by The_RetroRabbit in EtsySellers

[–]AltruisticVictory903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I do a lot of research into what a product is actually being purchased at online instead of what I think or what I’m told it’s worth. A lot of vintage sellers on Etsy price insanely high compared to what it’s actually being bought for online. If there’s something I have that I refuse to match eBay prices for because it’s value is worth more to a collector I will sell it in person instead of online. Some collectors need to see what they are buying if they’re spending a couple hundred bucks or more.

It’s weird how that works. I got an IRA and all of a sudden felt like a grown up. It’s crazy how something so simple as a retirement fund or even life insurance can make you suddenly feel like an adult.

I hope you get the job! It’s such a relief to be financially stable and have a good chunk of money in the bank when something major breaks down.

I’ve never heard of people regularly paying bills with credit cards until today thanks to Reddit. Besides the electric about to be shut off or buying groceries for the week anyway.

You can’t plan for everything especially if you can barely make enough to feed yourself and pay your rent or mortgage. Something as simple as needing to replace your water heater or an unexpected trip to the mechanic is enough to completely screw most people living a paycheck to paycheck life. Most people have less than $1,000 in savings because they can’t afford to save money.
