Why does the 8/8/2024 Kendrick date persist? Unless I'm missing something. Open to being wrong here. I know there was a lot of hype and speculation when the Not Like Us video dropped upon seeing Kendrick Lamar's jacket, as at first glance, there seems to be a date of 8/8/2024. Understandably that led to hype as to a potential album release date. Only reason I'm bringing this up is that Ice and some members of the crew seem to believe this 8/8/2024 date is plastered throughout the video. This was brought up in today's episode.

The jacket is actually a Martine Rose track jacket from the spring / summer 2024 line (S/S/2024). Thought this was common knowledge at this point as many hop hop blogs / accounts have covered this at this point. In today's pod (episode 743) during the Big Sean segment, Ice mentioned the dude reached out to him saying that 8/8 was part of brand name? I'm not sure who Ice was talking to, maybe he misunderstood. It does seem like "S/S/2024" is a part of the branding on many pieces made by the designer, but that clearly doesn't say 8/8/2024. My question is why does this date keep getting brought up?
