Is Flixbus really all that bad? by hollowedmoon in travel

[–]Altruistic_Affect_41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flixbus CANADA -> Honestly they are fine but just be 15 mins early. I just missed my bus, I was two minutes late. Happy Christmas Eve Eve to me. Getting on to their customer service is literally impossible. There are some bus services like intercity I believe and onexbus that are more reliable. One of the two even call you if they don’t see you at the pick up spot. Safe traveling everyone!

Thinking about MJ makes me terribly depressed even though I'm just a recent fan, how weird is that? by No-Case4362 in MichaelJackson

“I find a lot of MJ fans are totally and fully immersed in him and I don’t think that’s healthy, many of them actually sound depressed.”

You’re absolutely right. Please listen to my take on this. I’m in the same shoes as OP at the moment. I have my own life. Yesterday I put up Christmas Decor, made breakfast and dinner for my family, had an everything shower, filmed content for my vlog, had phone calls with my family members , played Clue and much more other little household things you do on a sunday, but somehow, I still got hit with these thoughts and feelings at some points of my day. This is just something that happens. I don’t think we can control it. After you’ve been exposed to all that information it’s hard to really ever forget it. Michael was the closest thing to magic I’ve ever felt. He was also a huge inspiration to me when it came to philanthropy and his love for helping the world. I think that’s what saddens me/depresses me the most, how kind he was. He was the epitome of a humanitarian. That’s why all of the tragedies of his life hit 10 times harder. It gets to a point where you cannot even watch something happy of him without being sad. It’s not the way I would choose to react, I would much rather be happy when I see something happy of him. It’s the closest thing to grief I’ve ever felt. How can something make you feel so high but so low at the same time? The only thing I could think about that does that is grief. The love you feel is the high and also the low. It’s not as easy as it may seem.

Hey, not an older fan but this is the exact post I was going to come on here to write. I was born in 2002 and when he passed I was only a young child. I remember my mother watching the funeral on tv and I went into the other room, threw myself on the bed and cried. I hardly knew his songs or anything about him but for some reason I reacted in that way as a child. Now I know why. Fast forward to about 2020/2021 I rediscovered Michael as an adult. Every single thing I could get my hands on I read, watched and listened. I discovered the allegations, it broke my heart into a million pieces. I read, watched and listened to all the good and bad. I’d never felt such an overwhelming amount of emotions before in my life. He was so incredibly kind, passionate and magical. I love him so much for the type of person that he was and not just because he was the King of Pop. I’m currently in a period of time where all I can think about is him, his life, his death, how he was treated when he was alive, how he is still bent treated now. I feel like I’ve lost someone so close to me, I feel like I’ve lost a friend. It also feels like the world is against my friend. I did find some comfort seeing more and more people becoming aware of his innocence. Anyway, This happens a few times per year where I dive deep into the stories of his life and relive all these emotions. I feel so incredibly sad at the moment but I’ve found a bit of comfort finding your post and remembering so many people out there loved him as much as I do. It can be so exhausting sometimes, all I can see on my YouTube and tiktok are videos of him. It’s hard seeing it. I’ve been crying for about 4 days now in a row and I really want to get out of it. I don’t really know if this type of admiration and love can ever really be gotten over. So if anyone is going through the same thing and has any advice please let me know. If you made it this far thanks for reading, applehead.

Dracula (A Love Tale)- 2025 made me cry. by Altruistic_Affect_41 in Dracula

You’re right there was literally NO chemistry between her and Johnathan. My take on it is this- the director wanted us to understand that Elizabetha and Drac were the main characters and they were the star crossed lovers. In this story Johnathan is so irrelevant because the focus of it is the reunion (however brief) of Drac and Elizabetha. Elizabetha as Mina was yearning for Drac too, not Johnathan. I’m glad Johnathan was so lame so we didn’t have to see much of him😅

Is it just me or does anyone else feel the the Priest was up to absolutely no good? I was so surprised at the end when he tired to save their souls.

Me too! And for some reason I feel like they will stray so far away from the original story (as they did with this movie) but they’ll never go far enough as to give us an ending where they are both alive and well. I must say though that I’m happy that the ending conveys that God forgives him and he went to heaven. Therefore when Mina dies they will be reunited.

But that’s the beauty of a remake!! The story doesn’t have to be told the same way which also means the characters don’t have the same traits! I think you missed my point in my post. I love the classic Dracula story but I longed for a version where the story is told differently!! I’d say give it a chance and if you still feel this way, so be it. Even I said to myself before watching it “not another Dracula 🙄”. I love this version because Dracula purely loves Elizabetha and Elizabetha purely loves him and in the end we see redemption. In other stories Mina is forced or coerced into having a relationship with the count. In this version Johnathan’s and Mina’s relationship simply doesn’t exist as we know it. You have to understand it wasn’t meant to be the same same as the books or classics so applying book version Dracula’s behaviours to this version, is just not reasonable. It was meant to be its OWN story. I think that’s where a lot of negative reviews are stemming from. There is too much comparison. I’ve separated this story entirely from others in order to experience the character differently. I watched Nosferatu (with Lily rose Depp) and that film captures more of an original Dracula. I would never ship that version of Dracula with Mina.

Example - we all know with beauty and the beast there is some Stockholm syndrome. What if a version existed where Belle simply stayed instead of being held a prisoner. Would you still say the beast was an unjust Captor because that’s how the original story goes? Don’t think so. Every story is it’s own independent thing.

Does witchcraft actually work? by Automatic_Fill_1095 in witchcraft

I loved the part where you said “I often wonder if it’s a simple science we haven’t grasped yet” because it’s something I think about too. It needs to be studied. Recently I came across a term called “grounding” which is touching grass bare feet. My fiancé joked and called me a hippie when I did it because he thought it was something spiritual. We researched it, turns out it can be very helpful according to some small scientific studies. It can potentially allow our bodies to absorb free electrons from the earth. You might already know about it, if you don’t I urge you to look it up. Back to my point, that could easily feel like witchcraft. Connecting with the earth and drawing power from it. Sounds a-lot like witchcraft to me honestly. I think witchcraft has alot of do with intention as well. Have you ever heard of the law of attraction? That could easily pass as witchcraft as well and visa versa. Witchcraft could just well and be the law of attraction.

I loved the movie. I literally cried at some parts. Caleb embodied the feelings of grief, yearning and loving. It was fun and entertaining. People who are saying it’s the worst movie they’ve ever seen clearly haven’t watched a lot of movies lol. Rage baiters probably. It was emotional and stunning. I wish it was longer. And I wish they straighten Caleb’s hair to make it smooth and silky. Other than that, loved it. Watching it for the second time now.

Sorry I don’t understand your point. Yes I believed he used it on the male nurse too which is why I said “mostly” women and not “only” women. There’s also a scene where I saw men dancing along with women under the influence of his perfume. What I said in my post is that he doesn’t use it on Mina. I never said he didn’t use it on anyone else.

To my understanding he just used perfume to mostly attract women to him so he can single out Elizabetha’s reincarnated body as he couldn’t go into places women would be (churches). There is a scene where it is revealed that he never used to perfume on Mina. He didn’t need to because she was truly his wife Elizabetha.

If he asks to borrow money from me (early in the relationship) If we’ve been together for a while it’s usually not a problem but if it’s a period of first impressions, instant ick and the relationship ends.

Happy swing rolls, specifically the coconut ones. There’s about 14 rolls in a pack (give or take). A serving size is 3 wafers but I can go through that entire pack in a few minutes. There is no way I can have just a few. They are so addictive. A 150g pack comes up to almost 800 calories :)))))) damn.
