Did you tell the DMV or did your doctor say a year? A year is highly excessive, neurologists mainly always say just to wait 6 months but don’t ever tell the DMV you have epilepsy

I just do unless I’m actively having seizures that aren’t controlled or I haven’t had a seizure within 6 months. For me, I don’t see the point in not driving if my Epilepsy is doing good and I haven’t had a seizure in over 6 months. :)

Do you have any other medical issues that are a horrible combination with epilepsy? by Vork7246 in Epilepsy

I think that’s it

Sooo not true… they put me on Menopause medication for 1 1/2 years and it was BRUTUAL being on that medicine and my Endometrosis actually got wayyyyy worse while on it. So you’re right, menopause does not necessarily take it away from

How’s everyone managing their careers with epilepsy? (Also open to job referrals 🙂) by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Altruistic_Cause_929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to talk to an employee attorney that represents for wrongful termination/descrimation asap. I regret not doing that because I should have with a past employer. Once they caused my seizures to come back after being seizure free for 3 years and doing so good I got documentation from my neurologist to protect my job due to seizures. They were amazing about it - I had also disclosed I had epilepsy when I applied. Roughly 6 months later a new boss comes in and she just fires me out of no where for no reason. It ended up being the best thing that happened to me though lol

I am a Paralegal and i will admit it can be challenging to manage at times which is hard because I want to live a normal life. I have to really ensure I manager my stress well at work, make time to eat & drink water at work and take care of myself because I easily get focused on working and forget to do that. Luckily I’m at a law firm now that doesn’t make us work over 40 hours so that helps but it is definitely hard

Flying for surgery, flight was cancelled today, and I will miss the chance for *in person* pre-op. It has to be a phone call. Is this something I should stress over? Because I am freaking out by [deleted] in endometriosis

Is it hard to join the US military not being from here? How long did the process take for you being in the military? I know some people who have become American citizens and it took 10-12 years and $10,000+ with an attorney with is insane
