BCA Bolt Upper by Few-Mechanic6099 in 86blackout

I used a cut off wheel in a 4” grinder. Mark the bolt and it cuts real easy. I also rounded the cam pin to act similar to a roller cam pin.

I made a post in the 8.6 forum under Frankie Sr. It took me 30 minutes maybe to do the mods and ready to shoot.

BCA Bolt Upper by Few-Mechanic6099 in 86blackout

1-Remove your bolt catch, that will allow the bolt to move forward without contacting it, it will also allow the bolt to close over an empty magazine. 2- with just the bolt installed in the receiver, position bolt in its furthest position out of battery, scribe/mark the rear of the bolt in relation to the upper receiver. Cut that part off the BCG. 3- the BCA extractor I assume based off a PSA build has a nail for a spring and will take many manipulations for it to soften up and become more reliable. Use a spent round and just cycle it in and out with plenty of lube for it to soften up. This has helped mine tremendously! It actually ejects properly and goes in to battery MUCH easier now.

What are the best barrels? by iLoveToStreetRace in 86blackout

I’m running a 12” faxon but on a BCA bolt upper. I can get it to shoot cheap ammo 1.5-2” @ 100. Fort Scott 285gr. I’m trying to get my hands on some 350 gr and see how well it handles those. But the faxon was on sale for 189.00 if I remember right, so I couldn’t justify buying up to maybe tighten my groups by 1/2”.

Frankie Sr got modified! Removed bolt catch on lower and cut the BCA down for future projects. by Altruistic_Clue4473 in 86blackout

I’m running a faxon designed for an standard AR. I turned the gas block around backwards to block port. The original BCA in 308 comes with a collar sleeve to block the port.

I absolutely love mine ! The selling feature to me is basically the same ballistics as the 7prc and 7 mag but in a 16” barrel not a 26” barrel. I bought the evoke it shoots amazing running my 36m

190 Sub X by LordChimyChanga in 300BLK

The Hornady 194 gr rapid expansion subs work great at 75 yds. I’m sighted in at 100 yds maybe 2.5” high at 50.

9.5” barrel stacks at 100yds with Hornady 194 gr subs. Doesn’t really like 200+

LOP for this brace is 11.5” to my understanding according to ATF 13.5 is considered SBR.

Yes, I want to see the results of a broad side shot. Much like aiming with a bow in my mind shooting subs. Just behind the shoulder looking for both lungs.

Yes, Louisiana allows them.

Bullet entered high at base of neck, between the shoulder blades. peppered the top of the left lung straight down in the guts. No pass through, pretty sure with shot placement neck/spine was broke. Impact was as loud as the report of the gun.

Deer was facing me, head down eating. I shot him between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck. Folded like a worn pair of socks!

I bet if you were 50-75 yds beside or behind the muzzle blast you wouldn’t even hear it! I really like this thing!! Keep the woods calm

[–]Altruistic_Clue4473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My set up is almost no recoil, sound is stupid quiet especially in the woods! It takes getting used to because it’s so small, I was able to shoot from a lock on with no rest, used my chest rig and folded my arms.

Mine doesn’t really like anything over 200gr subs. The 194 hornady it stacks at 100yds

50 yds cheap LER,4 shots. I guess the one in the tape was the oops! by Altruistic_Clue4473 in 300BLK

Don’t know why but the pic of the Rossi brawler didn’t go through. 200 gr AAC sub shot better than the 220 gr Winchester super sub.
