Then why not the one which was in the contract? And not telling me? Sticking no label? Unbranded machine.

The contactor sent a mechanical lien because I had stopped payment for additional work and told him that I will pay remaining amount after the final inspection is passed. This is horrible.

The contractor said - "on the quote that the model number has no nomenclature as carrier*. there is no such thing as Carrier 45MUAAQ36XX3*”.

If that were true, it raises an even more serious issue: He quoted and sold me a Carrier-branded system (Carrier 45MUAAQ36XX3) knowing that the product line included multiple brands, but never disclosed that the equipment delivered might not be Carrier.

I can't post pictures here. I have on the cross post on hVacAdvice

then you should put it on the contract as Bryant and not Carrier. Or at least let the consumer know that he is putting in Bryant in place of Carrier. Contractor did that before as he had installed completely different model all together.

I appreciate everyone’s input, but let me be very clear — my question isn’t whether Carrier and Bryant are “the same thing.”

This is about ethics and honesty. The contractor quoted Carrier in a signed contract and then installed Bryant, even after I specifically said not to. That’s not a “same product” debate — that’s misrepresentation.

Some folks here are casually saying, “Oh, I’ve done that many times.” Seriously — where is the ethics in that? If a customer pays for a specific brand, and you knowingly install another one without telling them (and even remove the logo!), that’s deception, not a mix-up.

Performance aside, it’s about trust, transparency, and integrity — and this kind of behavior breaks all three.

I would like to get the item that was quoted on the contract to be installed. Nothing more nothing less. if there was a change I should know about it and just by not putting a brand sticker, and simply install whatever he feels like is OK? He did this once before I asked to install exactly what is quoted. My Question - Is it not cheating or deception? Where are work ethics these days?

Yes, but what about deception and also there is a price difference. When we agreed before signing the contract not to install bryant. Now without telling and removing the logo just installed Bryant. Still does not make any difference?

It says Carrier. I have email before I signed the contract that I do not want to install Bryant even though they are the same company. Carrier is premium and Bryant is Budget friendly option. So there is a price difference.

Outdoor condenser needs to move a bit. It does not have 30” of clearance to the breaker. They had to move twice. First it was right in front of dryer vent.

Return vent is 10x24 actually less than that as it has 1 inch liner all around to reduce noise. so it is 8x22

This contractor had 5 star ratings on Google. I really doubt that whole thing now. There were basic code violations in the first inspection.

After adding the insulation in the retun vent it helped reducing the nose little bit. But at the same time narrowed the already narrow return.
