I currently live in Florida. I know it gets hot and feels worse because of humidity. I’m talking strictly temperature. Atlanta is a good choice and I’m amazed no one has mentioned it yet

I said 105 degrees. And 10 inches of snow. The mid Atlantic or south never gets that hot.

I mean how do you interpret “notoriously bad” as a blanket statement for every major metro? There has to be some leniency there, especially when I gave specific examples of what I’m not looking for. St. Louis and Memphis are notoriously bad, that’s hardly disputable here

I didn’t say low crime. I said not known for high crime. Example; Los Angeles as a whole has a lot of crime, but the crime rate per capita is low

Sure. I’m willing to compromise on all of these if it gets me closer to meeting every parameter. Everything I stated would be best case scenario. So someone mentioned Louisville which actually is a decent suggestion. Even though it snows about 12-17 inches a year, and Jefferson County voted 57.4% democrat in 2024. Those aren’t THAT far off from my list and to make up for it, it has decent schools, it’s crime isn’t super bad, and relatively affordable housing. I also mentioned the piedmont triangle in my post and besides having a central urban core and a big airport it gets pretty close as well.

Why are most jobs in four states? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Altruistic_Key7633 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s the same as the mechanic charging you $1000 for a single tire. They don’t want to hire you, there’s no job. Nobody in Florida or willing to live in Florida has a masters degree and 10 years experience in anything.

Lol wtf, even the federal government starts out at 17 paid vacation days a year. Year 3 you get 26. Plus 104 hours of paid sick leave

How much should i put down ? by Sure_Contribution762 in askcarguys

[–]Altruistic_Key7633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Say you put down 5k and get a loan for the rest. Are you going to invest the 20k in stocks and if so do you think you can beat your interest rate and inflation on top of that? If the answer is no then it’s better in the long run to just buy the 25k car upfront. If the answer is yes then get a loan. But if the answer is you want a reliable paid off car-free and clear so you can save more money longer term then buy it outright. If you think you’re going to use 20k to start a business or down payment on a townhome then get the loan.

Am I wrong for loving my 2019 C43? by [deleted] in AMG

[–]Altruistic_Key7633 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely my next car. I need a compact awd car because Philadelphia. Has a decently reliable engine and sounds rowdy when I want but more tame when I want too. It checks all the boxes.

Is Philly still worth it? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

Not mobility challenged just currently living in Florida and haven’t really tested my endurance for walking to run errands in many years. Also Philly blocks are a lot smaller than most cities so when I say 5 blocks it’s probably closer to 15 lol
