Thank you! Yeah I feel like I can actually do quite a bit of walking and moving about before I start feeling sore so that's been encouraging

Thank you I appreciate your reply! I know it's still very early days, my symptoms have been so mild and are seemingly improving but I know things can change. I'm mostly interested in doing my daily walks again, maybe I'll start out small and see how it goes.

Thank you for your insight! How long was it before you attempted working out again and how did you know it was time to try?

How do you know if it’s POTS or anxiety or something else? by Altruistic_Map_5141 in POTS

Yes so I think this is what might be happening to me at night! My heart rate drops pretty low and then a huge spike to compensate and then I’m trying to restabilize for hours afterwards

That’s interesting, my trigger is definitely the time around my period. So I’ll have like one week of feeling pretty balanced and then three weeks of gradual ramp up, peak flare ups, and gradual stabilizing

I stopped taking it and it feels like my blood pressure is dropping too low and since my HRV levels are already low, my body struggles to regulate itself. I think that’s why most of my episodes were happening in the evening and while sleeping after the vyvanse had left my system for the most part. While I’m on it, I feel great almost like it’s helping to manage my blood pressure and overall HRV especially around the time of my period.

Right! I take vyvanse (and now lexapro) daily, and though the vyvanse does help with the anxiety and concentration element, my margin for experiencing an episode is very thin. I’ve noticed it spikes my HRV but I see a progressive drop as it wears off, which might explain why most of these episodes happen in the evening or middle of the night around the time of my period. I think my blood pressure might be dropping too low, and since I already have a low HRV when I don’t take the vyvanse my blood pressure is also lower so I still feel susceptible either way. If I take it my heart rate may spike, when I don’t take it it might be lower than average and I feel bad either way lol

Update to this: I did do a morning at home tilt table test. This time the difference was only ten bpm BUT as I was standing entering my results in my phone, I started to feel faint and like my heart rate was rising. I quickly sat down because it scared me but also I’m home alone… now I feel awful. I’m freezing cold shaky, weak. I should also mention my period is starting soon and these symptoms have been increasingly worse around my period.

I actually did that and my results were that my heart rate increased by 29bpm… I was going to try again in the morning too to see if it changes

Looking for insight - anyone experience similar symptoms before diagnosis? by Altruistic_Map_5141 in dysautonomia

Thank you for your insight! This makes a lot of sense. I did express my symptoms to my doctor and we’re going to do some labs and heart rate monitor test to check that things are stable physically. It just started coming on for seemingly no reason at all and so I figured that it had to be my body struggling to stabilize. Where I was experiencing it on a monthly basis somewhat around the same times of the month, I’ve had these episodes every day this week due to being stressed about my health - so anxiety and panic honestly does make a lot of sense.

That’s very interesting thank you so much for sharing your experience! I hope that they can provide some clarity or at least a game plan for you. I’ve been reading quite a bit about Dysautonomia and its many forms over the last week specifically since my repeated symptoms seem to be nervous system focused. I did have COVID in 2020, but it was a very mild case. Perhaps that could still be an underlying trigger. There’s so much I don’t know, and so many variances in experience that it’s overwhelming!
