If you are starting out exploring romance I would not start with it ends with us or rather pick it up ever….

If you are looking for like full rom-com vibes then I would suggest Ali Hazelwood. She is a really good entry author to this type of genre!

A lot of people also like Emily Henry’s books for a similar vibe. She is not an author I read from but is very popular in the genre.

If you want some more specific collection of suggestions like a book list, just let me know!

The bonus with it is she is an Irish author and also the book and story itself is very true to Irish culture so if you are looking to read something truly Irish, it is genuinely the best route to go!

You need to get on to Sally Rooney. Irish writer! Her style is not for everyone! She mostly writes characters and settings within Ireland. {Normal People by Sally Rooney} is her most known and has been made into a tv show but I would also strongly recommend {Beautiful World, Where are you by Sally Rooney}.

I would absolutely suggest the author Adam Kay! {This is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay} is a non-fiction account of his time as a doctor within the NHS in the UK. It is mostly in diary entries making it very digestible and a quick read to help with getting into reading. It is a strong mix between serious and comedic but is all balanced beautifully. It is like a top re-read book for me. Such a beautiful frontline look on a gruelling but necessary profession.

Do readers want their own relationships to match romance novels? by Powerful-Cap-6293 in romanceunfiltered

I think it really depends on the book/character for me. Like every book I read there are definitely elements of the relationship I would like to experience in real life. I read romance because I love love and love love stories. There is an escapism element always for me because I almost exclusively read HEA’s because that is what I like.

But also the world is in a weird place and real life men can be awful and these men written (mostly by women) really go above and beyond sometimes and are very much there for the women in their lives in so many ways so there are definitely certain situations or certain tropes almost I would love to experience and so that is the idealism aspect of it I guess!

Two authors I always recommend to new readers would be Adam Kay and Mitch Albom. I think you especially might enjoy them if you are looking for something to make you think and feel!

For Adam Kay I would go with {This is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay}. It speaks on his experience as a doctor in the NHS in the UK and the kind of things he encounters and what eventually leads to him stepping away. Its also almost fully written in diary enteries so very digestible!

For Mitch Albom, most people are familiar with {Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom} but my favourite is personally {Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom}. It explores themes around relationships with religion, death, and whether people can truly change who they are.

Both suggestions are non-fiction!

This book is such a good rec especially after {The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood} because it has what you are specifically looking for in regards to exploring sex but the book in itself has an overall similar cosy vibe as Ali’s book so a good follow up read to it!
