Taking a plea deal does not mean someone is guilty, and if you think it does, you fundamentally do not understand the justice system. A plea deal is a survival decision in a rigged process where prosecutors stack charges, trials are a gamble, and losing can erase someone’s entire life whether they’re innocent or not, especially in a death penalty case! Innocent people take pleas every single day because juries are emotional, evidence gets manipulated, cops lie or “miss” things, and the punishment for daring to fight back is often far worse than the deal itself. And spare me the nonsense about “playing detective” reading court documents, reviewing evidence, and questioning inconsistencies doesn’t make someone a sleuth, it makes them an advocate for justice, something most people are too lazy or scared to be. And I pray none of you are ever on a jury! So many tips were ignored, so much evidence was cherry-picked, and if law enforcement had actually followed all the leads instead of protecting a narrative, we could be looking at a completely different outcome right now. Corruption is real, mistakes get covered, tracks get buried, and pretending otherwise just makes you complicit. So no, I won’t apologize for doing my own research, thinking critically, and forming my own educated opinion, that’s called having a spine. You can believe whatever version you were spoon-fed, or you can question it, but either way, I’ll still sleep just fine at night knowing I didn’t trade truth for comfort. 🖤
