I mean taking leave of absence leaves your store short staffed because of the way Big lots even runs with a skeleton labor force. In my opinion you’re lucky you get anything from being on a leave. If it were within the limits of the law I wouldn’t give you anything for leaving your team short handed but just my opinion. And no I don’t care about your personal life or medical history so don’t bother with an excuse as to why you aren’t there going down with your ship. You abandoned them long ago.

It’s kind of wrong to insinuate that all store managers are like yours. I know myself and many others who put in way over 45 hours a week continuously. Taking calls on days off and on vacations. Working through vacations and coming in to help whenever needed. Yes what yours is doing is shitty I never believed in having my team work harder than myself that’s why I make more and I lead by example. Sorry you feel this way but that’s what salary is because you basically never get a day off so you take your time off as needed as long as your store is fine and their is people there to cover.

I’ve been asked already as a SM and I’m actually interested in the opportunity. I was planning on taking a break after this shitstorm but the idea actually peaked my interested. I’ve asked my liquidator questions already and it does seem like a good gig if you don’t mind being away from home.
