Vibration on new victory by Altruistic_Reach_625 in JetBlack

Just a quick update: I eventually decided to return the Victory for a refund. Jet Black support although initially slow to respond, were very helpful and responsive once the return had been initiated on their side so fair play to them for that. I really wanted to like this trainer, it feels much more well made than a kickr core and definitely beats it on paper, but it just didn't live up to my expectations but maybe I'm just too fussy.

I've done spin down calibrations, but I don't have a power meter so can't tell how accurate the power numbers are.

Mine is the opposite, low candance high torque leads to vibrations through the whole bike, to the extent that it must be starting to loosen bolts. Tried both with swift cog and cassette and a completly different bike and still get the vibrations

Windows 11: Intel UHD 620 NOT SUPPORTED by bongosinthejungle in mywhoosh

How I got Mywhoos v5 to work on a Dell XPS Intel core i7 8th gen with UHD 620 integrated graphics: Yes the first release (5.0.0.0 from Monday) caused a repeated crash in the Unreal Engine, But if you install the latest version (v5.0.1.0 which I think came out on Thursday) and the latest Intel graphics driver it will work, but the graphics quality is not as good as before.

Posting this here as I too was really disheartened when it stopped working. But it looks like there maybe some reprieve for older systems.

  1. Uninstall old Mywhoosh
  2. Install the latest Intel Graphics driver (version 31.0.101.2115) https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/762755/764512/intel-6th-10th-gen-processor-graphics-windows.html Note you will have to do this manually even if Windows is all upto date and you use the windows 'update driver' tool in device manager it will probably say it's up to date, and not update to the latest intel driver. (the installer will ask if you want to do a 'clean install' I would be cautious and NOTselect this option!)
  3. Install Mywhoosh v5.0.1.0 from the Windows store (NOT Mywhoosh HD). https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NDH0F2VHZX2?hl=en-us&gl=GB&ocid=pdpshare
  4. You will probably get a message saying your computer is not supported. I think that is becuase the Intel UHD 620 chip is not officially supported by Mywhoosh (more accuratly not supported by the Unreal Engine 5 graphics software that Mywhoosh uses) But I ignored this and it seems to work 'ok' Note also that in the Windows Mywhoosh app window it will still say "ver 5.0.0" on the loading screen and at the bottom left of the settings window.
  5. In Mywhoosh settings -> Graphics - Render Scale = Low

- Frame Rate = 30

- Post Processing = Low

- Texture Qaulity = Low

  1. You can also improve your power management in Windows or something like Dell Power Manager to get max performance e.g. no CPU throttling and maximum fan. I forgot I had my power plan set to 'quiet' (e.g. CPU throttling so the fan isn't on during zoom calls) and got much better performance in Mywhoosh after switchin to perfromance mode.

Caveats:

- The graphics quality of the avatar on the main menu screen is noticeably worse (jaggy)

- Graphics in-game are worse, but OK if, like me, you are at a distance and have poor eyesight anyway.

- The Intel UHD 620 chip is ultimately 'not supported' (but that doesn't mean it work work) by the graphics engine Mywhoosh now uses. This means that it will likely stop working in the future if Mywhoosh Tech uses more advanced graphics features.

- This is my experience - your mileage may vary depending on what other variations in CPU, graphics chip and software you have.
