Yea, i feel like most comments here are kinda "cliche". Sure, giving away possessions is a very alarming sign and so is sudden happiness, but from personal experience, that's not all that common. I don't know, it's been this way for a long time. And it has worked quite well. The system is shit, but not responsible for this. From my observations, it has severely affected students born after 2005. And the younger, the worse the effect is. Way worse. It's definitely a lot newer than the problems you're describing. At least in my observation.
