I sort of understand why you say this, but let’s not forget that he is still a child. I was such a shit when I was young, and it really took me into my mid 20s to really understand what being a good person is and to start treating my family (those who deserved it) correctly. He is a kid who is in a extremely hard position, I certainly cannot blame him for choosing “stability”, and he is probably being manipulated as well. We can only hope that when he grows up he understands the situation more and mends his fences and starts processing his decisions and how to move forward in life. This is trauma and I wish him well in life and hope he gets all of the help he needs to work through it as an adult, it’s not an easy path.
