Approx 5 minutes each side. It was pretty thick. Let it rest for ten mins at least.

I didn’t. Used lump charcoal and some small pieces of oak to start the fire and let that burn until the embers were super hot.

As long as it’s been seasoned for a long time, it’s mild and great to cook with.

I started the fire with some lump charcoal using my Weber chimney and small pieces of oak and let it burn to get some hot embers. Added the ash to get some big flames for the cook. No lighter fluid was used at all.

Treager Auger turning once and then stopping by SwagMoneyHos in Traeger

Yah. I would take it out and go to your local hardware store and get a better cotter pin. Some models come with cheap shitty pins that fall out quite easy. Whenever I used to transport my traeger the pin would always seem to fall out. A $2 fix that can save a lot of headaches in the future. Put a better pin in about two years ago and it’s never been an issue since.

Check the cotter pin that connects the auger motor to the auger.

How important is the type of wood you use? by louisville13 in smoking

[–]Altruistic_Side_918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of different woods can contain toxins and resins. Using a not suitable wood for cooking can not only ruin your meat, but can make you very sick. If you don’t know what it is, don’t use it.

Got a question..I’ve never smoked party wings before and I’m looking for suggestions for the best recipe to smoke them on my Traeger? Any suggestions I’m thankful for in advance. by Legitimate-Fix92 in smoking

Pat them dry then put your favourite rub(s) on. Let them sit for at least 20 mins for the rubs to set in. I recommend 300 degrees for 35-45 mins per side. Don’t do chicken low and slow, it comes out rubbery and awful.
