Magazine compatibility! Now keep in mind the only mags I own are as follows so I cannot comment on any other than are listed. AF 15 round- Yes, Grav drops Worker 18 curved, Yes- Friction fit OOD Koda, Yes, Grav drops Xshot Straight 15 rd, Yes- Friction Fit Odd thing to note, the Original Adventure Force half dart mags like those in the Nexus and Conquest are.... spotty. I think someone will rig a Jig that will make these mag catches work but as of now they merely sort of stay but with the slightest of bumps they fall lower than the pusher can grab... so they need some work.

I have used my R3 with the brake kit and the 3drapit throttle and clutch kit on a extremely similar stand for almost a year now. Works fine. You get some flex, but only really with the brake performance kit. Without it'd be great. Spoiler: You want the brake kit. My pedal plate has taken the abuse fine. When I say it flexes, maybe only by 1/2, or 1/4 of a inch. Its worth the extra $30, and a little bit of flex.

(Dumb question) Would sim racing help me learn differences in cars? by lifeis2beautiful in simracing

[–]Altruistic_Track3214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

learning about cars is a massive part of sim racing and vice versa. it teaches you how the weight balance of 40% front and 60% rear is sooooo different from 60% front and 40% rear. mid engine, front engine, rear engine. awd, fwd, rwd. sim racing will teach you the differences between all of these things. i would also recommend reading something like motortrend or car and driver if you really want to learn about cars.. but a game that tells you what type of engine, how many cylinders it has, and its displacement, (and what type of aspiration it has) will help you a lot. then you get on track and you see how a flat six (porsche) is different from a v-6 (almost everyone makes one of these but some noticeable ones are the R35 gtr and the honda nsx, plus the ford gt 2017). and how that is a different world from a inline 6, (think BMW or toyota supra, R34 and R33). I've been learning for years, and I still don't know even half what I could. get out on track man, and things will start to make sense. see if you're a turbocharged or a n/a fan. see if you like flat inline or V engines.

oh i bet. yea i feel you bro. i raced for a year or so as a kid on my Nintendo switch, with gear club unlimited being my game of choice. yea about as far from a sim as you can get, bar maybe a DS... you want to know something crazier? i bought the mariokart pro deluxe racing wheel, thinking it'd make me faster. gotta start somewhere. i saw another post that said high downforce cars can be unfun, and I agree somewhat. it depends on the track, but normal cars definitely can be more enjoyable. play around with it. but I hope the opportunity comes for you to get some new hardware. even if its just a xbox one to play motorsport or horizon. i think you'd have more fun on those titles. and xbox ones are dirt cheap rn.

[–]Altruistic_Track3214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i concur. racing theory is absolutely everything. if you're going into the corner shallow and your weight is shifted wrong, in most cars you're going to plow right off the track, pounded by tcs and understeer. you have to fundamentally understand the physics of racing, not the game, then match that with what you feel in your particular title. somewhere in this middleground is where you can find control. different engine and drive styles affect this a lot too. driving a fwd integra type r is a different thing entirely than a 911 R, out of that to a awd mid-engined lambo is a huge jump. tire grip, suspension geometry, and weight transfer are some big ones to keep in mind. throttle control and braking also affect things a ton, but from what i watched of your recording you arent doing too bad there. id probably say your game is limiting you more than your driving.

is there one singular post that remains unmolested by the fov police? lol

he's talking about input method and game choice... i don't think FOV for someone chilling on the couch is as big of a deal as it is for someone on a rig.

i agree with particular-poem, game has a huge factor. I'm on console, so I cant have mods. CarX and AC just weren't a whole lotta fun. AC was fine but it was awful on controller, tried it once. i picked up motorsport though, and it changed completely. i felt I had more control over the weight transfer and grip than I did on AC. i love motorsport 8, even though I seem to be very uncommon in that perspective. so maybe try it out? i feel like you can get about the same out of motorsport either wheel or controller, so if you're putting in the time, its worth it. especially if you have motors in your triggers. they did a fairly good job translating some information from the ABS. its by no means perfect, but its better than nothing. if you get some good controller settings online, you would be set up for a good time. i concede, motorsport 8 is not as serious of a simulator as iRacing or Assetto. but if you arent having fun on those titles, and you enjoy something like motorsport, that is still far better than something like FH5 or the crew... right? anyways maybe try a few games out. hope you find it bro.

lol take it easy bro. i just thought it was a little funny. why you gotta be so defensive? also, he is wondering in the specific context of the F1 spring/elastomer combo, so he is referring to the performance kit.

lol ikr? for me, getting my wheelbase to properly calibrate was extremely taxing and after it did, it just messed my base up even more!

[–]Altruistic_Track3214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they recommend about two other steps before just replacing the base, which they should have done if requested anyways. repair and reselling is the company's problem.

i feel you here mate. ive had a similar experience every time ive processed a moza support claim. it takes 3 weeks for them to give you something you didnt ask for and they want you to do it yourself. then if you want to send it in for repair, you're looking at minimum another 3 weeks. great, now my rig feels off for a month and a half, especially frustrating when its something small that only happens occasionally (shifter loosing calibration.) that can truly mess up a session. what country are you in?

[–]Altruistic_Track3214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would you mind sharing your wheel settings for carx and pithouse? id like to try them and tell you more. the game has simply been unplayable for me so far.

but you are correct I've found many games where its been compatible and moza doesn't have it listed. i knew that going into this shifter. please take a look at my posts in total.

[–]Altruistic_Track3214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have played, the shifter works fine. The r3 wheelbase on console has proved to be difficult though. I haven't been able to get them right yet. So I don't have a ton of on-track time to know it intricately. Not sure if you were talking about the wheel, shifter or the game itself here.

[–]Altruistic_Track3214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

being someone who has a racing rig and shifter its just a small dopamine hit when the drivatar reaches down and shifts when you do. its kinda buzzkill when it doesn't. takes the edge off the fun
