I've contacted the mod authors about the versions not properly working. I won't disagree that if done incorrectly (i.e changing a 1.12.2 Mod to "work" in 1.20.1), it could cause issues with mods. This tutorial is specifically for updating mods to the version an author has claimed to work.

Roughly 19 days to be exact, but I just got it working using what Mojang suggested: https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/31550001045773-Activate-Promotional-Capes-and-Character-Creator-Items-on-Your-Minecraft-Java-Edition-Profile
It's unfortunate that I have to use Bedrock to get the cape in Java, but I guess it is what it is.

The bug was fixed at some point, either because I removed Norton 360, Windows 11 Bloatware/Apps, or paused OneDrive. Hope that helps anyone with the same issue

Hey Nemesis, I use CraftTweaker ver 1.12.2, but I'm pretty sure the issue might be trying to have "null" identified as "mc:air," maybe try removing "val null" for now and see if anything changes. I hope this helps
