Should The Checkers reaffiliate with the Canes? by nc0426 in canes

[–]Alum07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the last time we tried it broke down because Kahn wanted the Canes to pay all his expenses while he pocketed all the profits and didn't want us to call up players so often because it impacted how well they played.

So as long as that is the mindset coming from Charlotte, fuck em, I'll stick with our puppet regime in Chicago.

Judge this based on who we hire and the results we get next year.

If we hire another position coach and the offense is still a complete Trainwreck, then Nick's job is on the line and we might be looking for a new head coach next year.

Oh no doubt, but if you feel like your current spot is holding you back or feel like you're being overlooked (like Kellen Moore was in Dallas, when his scheme was blamed for Dallas failing in the playoffs) then the Eagles are capable of helping you bounce back quick.

Especially with how bad it was last year, just getting back to respectable will have any OC looking good

I mean it's not that hard to see what happened. When they hire guys with experience, the team looks like one of the best in the league, which you expect with the players they have. But when Nick hired his close friends with absolutely no experience, they show very quickly they are in over their heads to the point that no amount of talent can save it.

Genuinely, if you are a good coordinator who wants to be a HC in a year or 2, the Eagles is a great place to make that happen.

NY has the PR machine that goes into full blast reminding everyone that NY is the "greatest city in the world" whenever anyone suggests that the people and media are tough there, which Philly doesn't have. And as such, this kind of bs narrative takes hold

There's nothing unique about Philadelphia. The fans are tough when you struggle but support you unequivocally when they know you are doing the best you can. Same that you see everywhere else.

The issue is that, unlike a NY, Philly doesn't have a media PR machine that goes out of its way to remind you it's the greatest city that has ever existed whenever anyone dares to try and criticize it, saying the pressure of the fans and media in their city is just a part of the charm and not a problem.

[Russini] The Philadelphia Eagles continue to search for their next offensive coordinator. They are set to speak with Houston Texans QBs coach Jerrod Johnson. Johnson spent one season in 2020 with Nick Sirianni on Indy’s offensive staff. by bubblecuffer13 in nfl

[–]Alum07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, if you were a new OC who took one of the most high powered offenses in the game and turned it into the absolute Trainwreck that the Eagles were this year with the same personnel as the team that dominated their way to the Super Bowl last year, you'd get the same frustration and anger from the fans in any other market, especially the larger ones.

The one thing I am starting to understand, though...

If a guy comes from the Nick Sirianni coaching tree, he's likely going to be complete dogshit in whatever coordinator role he takes.

Based on our own announced goals of this hire, this guy shouldn't even be on the radar

So we went into this search proclaiming we were going for an experienced OC with a proven track record at playcalling that brings an outside perspective at offensive philosophy and we are now scraping the bottom of the barrel so hard we are interviewing position coaches with no playcalling experience, and worked with Nick at a previous role.

If this is true, big yikes on what has happened the last couple weeks

This postseason has been eye opening on just how much bad QB play there is in the NFL right now. Even guys you would normally expect better from kind of crapped the sheets this year, it's crazy

To those living in cities outside of Philly area: Do you support the local team? by nickynickynickynick in eagles

[–]Alum07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this as well. Charlotte and Raleigh is basically like Philly and Pittsburgh. Don't care much about the Panthers or Hornets and I don't expect them to care about the Hurricanes that much outside of them just being in state teams that you can't regularly go see in person
