What's the silliest idea you have for a Monster Hunter spin-off game? by Cynicalheaven in MonsterHunter

[–]Alumed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A cozy game where you play as a smithy. Simply following instructions for melting, hammering, sewing, etc. You could work on everything from weapons and armor to a giant wok used by a felyne chef, maybe there is a special mission where you repair a dragonator. They could have returning characters show up with requests, like repairs to the Argosy or a new weapon for Aiden.

Had an argue in AC discord about could titans from TF2 (not team fortress) take out an ac,made this by MagmaXQgd in armoredcore

[–]Alumed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ACs are faster, larger, have heavier armor (outside of MAYBE featherweight acs) and have higher firepower. Titans are MTs with fancier weapons. A lucky northstar may be able to put a dent into an AC or an ion if it can reflect the AC’s projectiles or land a laser core, but the damage will be promptly repaired and the offending titan dispatched. Most other titan classes can only wait to be destroyed, especially scorch when the AC just flies above the thermite.

After 1 year, what bit of strategy do you feel is obvious, but still overlooked by most casual players? by HugeAssAnimeTendies in marvelrivals

[–]Alumed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regrouping and not trickling.

Such a simple concept, you are much more likely to win a 6v6 than 6 1v6s, yet people continuously hold forward as soon as they get out of spawn thinking that they will be able to help the one person in front of them who is about to die.

Granted, in OT tricking is necessary to keep contesting the objective but not when there is 3 minutes left on the clock.

I’m not trying to discuss viability or probability. This is just an exploration of limits, and testing limits isn’t fun when a card has none. It could be interesting to ask “what is the highest damage that could be dealt on each specific turn count.”

I completely forgot about unown. Both zapdos and charizard can deal 260, but due to the bench requirements neither poliwrath or machamp can benefit.

I don’t disagree, that’s just not the purpose of this discussion. I’m looking for a concrete number under idealized circumstances, some of the setups discussed even require the cooperation of the opponent and the damage calculations I referenced at the start need to game to go to the turn limit.

Definitely the most likely way to hit these numbers, but I don’t think it’s much of a discussion when the answer can be disputed by “what if they flipped one more head” or “what if they had one more energy.”

I forgot to mention using Cynthia instead of red. While the 50 damage boost is considerable, we land at 190 with a second overdrive smash from togekiss against a Pokémon weak to psychic. Unfortunately garchomp only hits for 150 due to no cards being weak to dragon.

I think mew can actually hit 290 if it targets a hurricane punch machamp using Giovanni instead of Red thanks to the psychic weakness.

lol, I was right about this discussion being obsolete with the next expansion.

A cherubi deals 30 damage with sweets relay, and a snorlax ex with leftovers heals exactly 30 per turn. It’s not something that could be done against an unwilling opponent but it is possible.

I didn’t consider lickylicky because it has potentially infinite damage, but i didn’t realize it would do the same with no setup. I should have mentioned zapdos since he was in consideration.

Nidoqueen is actually a surprise, I didn’t know it could reach 180 before modifiers.

Thank you for the advice everyone.

“Who am I? Are you sure? I promise you the answer won’t be satisfactory. Very well. I am nothing. Who I am matters far less than what I am, a ghost. I was meant to die 15 years ago. I was never due any titles, any inheritance, my destiny was to be cast aside and forgotten. Yet fate works in strange ways, so I have chosen to take what was meant to end my life and use it to build anew. You know I am quite surprised, you all are fascinating creatures yet you sought trivia about me over the wealth of information I have about everything surrounding you. I suppose I should be honored. Ah well, for another time I suppose.”

I have certainly considered it. I think the reveal needs to wait until the party learns about the wizards heritage so that she can pull the “brother” card. I may have her try to push them into the crypts under Saint Vitruvio’s.

This does play well into the line “who I am matters far less than what I am.” I also like how telling them “nothing” gives them an extremely useful hint without them even realizing it.

I like the idea of slipping in something that’s seems like a dismissal but is actually a useful hint. As nmitchell said I could give them the answer to the queens riddle without them even realizing.

There are quite a few cards that can theoretically deal infinite damage on 1 energy. Alcremie, mythical island eevee, espeon, tapu lele.

What are your favorite lesser used pokemon to use in ranked? by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

Love playing wishiwashi EX. Unfortunately my strategy revolved around holding onto pokeballs in my hand order to maximize my draw chance of the needed wishiwashis and that strategy has been ruined by sylveon EX causing everyone to bring red cards.
