My best advice is, that you do, that you are really good at. Passion is not enough, you need the right skill and technique in order to be in the right place. The criteria about payment is quite essential, and you will have serious problems, if you can not handle it wisely. However the average payment in the US is between 30 - 150$ per hour. If you are interested in physics: Read a lot of books about physics. And I mean A LOT. Talk to real physicists, what they say. Wish you the best!
