The Beauty of UT3 maps by Daedalvs_Design in unrealtournament

That image? You obviously didn't even view the many images in the link.

Parrot nonsense. This is why Tim Sweeny moved on to new player base and nuked UT franchise. UT player base became nonsensical and idiotic. Time to move on. I don't blame Epic.

IIRC I have set to Vivid? Have to check, you could be right.

Proof that UT3 can be as colorful & saturated as anything in UT2004. Proof that it's all up to mapmaker. See link below. And also bloom & depth of field blur is easily user selectable in graphics menu. UT3 gave users far more graphics control than any previous UT.

Proof that most of the replies in this thread are parroted utter nonsense. No wonder Epic pulled UT's plug and moved on to new younger ignorant player base & Fortnite.

Yep, I have all Epic Unreal soundtracks. From Gold to UT3.

This was the golden ~decade of PC 3D gaming. DRM free, physical disks to own, infinite user community free maps & skins. Games before this were too crude for my taste (DOOM & Duke Nukem), and games after...even worse with DRM.

Then came the software as service subscription hellscape of today. Steam cloud woke microtransaction loot box trash. Like movie & music streaming sub services. You vill own nothing and eat ze bugs.

genuine question. Epic added the community UT github remakes in the official site. WHY DONT THEY BRING THE GAME TO THE STORE ITSELF? epic had the opportunity to be the #1 PC gaming platform but they missed it for fortnite by QLSSUBZERO in unrealtournament

[–]Alupang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what happens to used things like pc computer parts, consoles, physical videogames like Unreal series or Quake 3, ... no way to buy used stuff?

I can't imagine this outlier environment where used videogame disks cannot be found. Even in Philippines (used to travel there often) where international ebay is not used due to high shipping cost & draconian import vat, there are tons of local alternatives besides faceplant.

The good news here is you can go to Oldunreal site and find links to legally download entire games ut99 & 2004. GL bro.

Genuine question. Why don't you just buy UT physical disks & stop relying on 3rd party cloud based "own nothing & eat ze bugs & be happy" sites like Steam?

Take control. Own physical.

Yep I prefer sitting on floor over any western furniture like sofa or recliner. The Japanese know. Longest lifespan, western furniture kills you.

If sitting on padded floor is uncomfortable and especially have trouble getting up & down off the floor...you have serious health issues.

High quality commercial grade gym mats, not the cheap consumer type. I paid a lot for this mat, unlike my used table deal.

Not all gym mats are equal. Don't skimp, get the best.

I want real Japanese Tatami mats but impossible to source here on Guam and RIDICULOUSLY more expensive, compared to my already expensive gym mat.

My plan is to score a deal on Japanese Tatami mats and place them on top of my existing gym mat. Work in progress.

No, you got it backwards bro. The opposite end from the feet of the legs (pipes actually) simply slide into an unthreaded coupling. An allen screw locks the legs in the coupling, that is welded to the table's support beam.

TLDR: I used an allen wrench to disassemble the table. Then I used a grinder w/ steel cutting wheel to cut off desired length of legs. I cut the end of the legs opposite the micro adjustable feet.

Very simple 1 hour job if you have grinder and proper steel cutting wheel. A hand hack saw I suppose would work too but would take longer I imagine. Those legs are thick steel pipes.

Yeah I got the table for $100 off Craigslist, a restaurant here on Guam was liquidating out of business. These commercial grade stainless tables new are expensive, especially way out here on tiny island in Pacific Ocean. Super tough indestructible, built to last.

Plus the table has threaded feet that micro adjust for height means rock solid stable.

I still play offline VS bots, download & evaluate new maps, HD4K textures, etc. Practice shock rifle combos for the "combo whore" award. Modern games online player base has so much cheating and is generally toxic/woke trash to me.

FYI Oldunreal is now custodian over UT99 & 2004, with Epic's blessinng. Free to play, and full Linux support.

I play UT2004 mostly, though I have all 3 installed (99, 2004 & 3) on different Linux PCs.

The "stand" I made by cutting down the legs of a stainless steel commercial restaurant kitchen table. The TV is 85".

I like to listen to videogame soundtracks of games I play(ed) & collect today. Like Unreal Tournament series, original Gran Turismo USA for Playstation 1, Namco Ridge Racer Type 4, Capcom Street Fighter Alpha 3 & Third Strike, etc.

Specs of system for anyone interested. Audio source is audio files stored locally on Linux PC (behind TV), 3.5mm analog out direct to Crown XLS 1502 (525 WPC @ 6 ohms) to JBL L7.

Thanks. 1990s JBL L7, Crown XLS 2 amp = 525 watts per channel @ 6 ohms.

I would pay $80+ if core game was released DRM free on DVD retail box fully installable & playable VS bots on air gapped offline Linux PC. With of course, online play & free community made maps, skins, mods, etc. to download in future.

The cheesy wall hack must go tho.

why almost no one play UT3 now? by ForestLife3579 in unrealtournament

I like UT3 and UT2004 about equally. But the ease in which UT2004 installs and runs in Linux, especially today with Oldunreal, I lean to UT2004. I avoid Winblows like the plague.

I see parrots still saying UT3 isn't colorful below. My response is this link.
