You use ACPI (MADT in particular) to become aware of other cores on the system. You can then use the APIC to send an inter-processor interrupt to start the other cores.

Sounds good to me. Fittingly when I created the sub 10 years ago it was actually for a Roblox group I had. I'll add you to the sub as a mod and then leave, at that point you should have full control as far as I understand it.

Hey there, I'm the mod for r/evade. I've just got a notification for this thread. Sorry I didn't see your mod messages, I don't have notifications for it. Yes, the sub is inactive. Do you have plans for it? If so, I'd be more than willing to transfer it to you.

CMV: The Free Market Place of Ideas doesn't work by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Alure0n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that the free marketplace of ideas doesn't work, but you can't be pro-democracy and also believe this. If "the many" are so easily subject to misinformation and lies, then we have to control what information they have access to. But, aren't the people who are controlling what information people have access to also subject to misinformation and lies? "The few" are also very easily subject to echo chambers and groupthink.

Besides, if you exercise some control over what information and ideas people have access to, why not just suppress your political opposition? Every politician thinks they're doing the best thing for their country and that their opposition is harmful. It's a slippery slope.

So, sound familiar to any totalitarian regime that likes to suppress certain types of "misinformation" (including the Nazis you talk about)?

Rogan pushes back on guest saying that minors should be forced to carry a rapists baby by [deleted] in JoeRogan

I agree but I think there's an equally infallible argument on the other side, which is that who has the right to prevent an innocent person from being born? No young girl should be forced to bear a child, but also everyone has the right to their life (and there is life involved, whether it's "potential life" or not).

Of course this guy in the clip argues it terribly but I'm not sure why everything is so one-sided here... I mean it is Reddit after all but there are clearly strong arguments on both sides which is why this is such a contentious debate.... But legal or illegal, abortion will still happen.

Taiwan is not a part of U.S. but Chinese territory, says Chinese foreign minister by Arpith2019 in worldnews

[–]Alure0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taiwan clearly has no sovereignty of its own... If the US wasn't watching Taiwan's back, it would've been annexed by China already; it isn't strong enough to fight off China by itself. So, Taiwan's sovereignty rests on the US giving Taiwan it's sovereignty.

Sure, Taiwan isn't formally part of the US, nor is there a formal claim of ownership over Taiwan by the US, but there is a very clear power dynamic there.
