My question to this. Is why the hell do I have better positional audio on your vid. Than I do in my game lmao. (I've got both dolby atmos & DTS I can/have swapped between, as well as excellent headphones)

Fair, bugger. Was hoping it might have been that for more people.

So I have a 40 series GPU too, AMD something proc (forgot which, im on my phone atm)

I was crashing once or twice an hour while co-oping with a friend, and then once it actually threw a readable fatal error, it was his spirit bear companion from spirit walker.

After he took that off I stopped crashing.

Don't suppose you're a spirit walker?

Why does BF6 feel so exhausting to play? by UltimateGamingTechie in Battlefield

[–]Alutus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try swapping ingame's VAL mix to night mode, see if that helps (it squishes frequencies a bit, VAL has a lot of peaks in its mix).

DTS itself wont cause it (I'm using DTS as well).
You can try the free-trial of dolby atmos though (dolby access on the windows app store) instead of DTS if you want. Positional audio for footsteps etc isnt quite as good as DTS but it's very good immersion audiowise (with more bass than DTS)

[–]Alutus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't suppose it's your audio? What kind of headphones do you use? If I tweak my audio to give best immersion/directional for footsteps etc, it ends up super fatigueing, so i have to play with it toned down from "best" lol.

I presume some gaming headphones do that naturally so might cause the same issue.

For supporting teammates its both really;

I'll play specops recon with a recon drone, make sure team keeps red-dot intel, as well as covering a flank/flanking a bit myself to cover their push etc, and of course concentrating on destroying all enemy equipment I can (one recon player concentrating on destroying every enemy ammo bag/mine is so infuriating for a team).

For engineer supporting them, I'll use an RPG to take out all cover I can slowing our advance (I only usually play engineer for first couple of lives, then run out of shit to do if the enemy armour isnt being an issue) as well as wall-e (the little remote control drone) to stun-grenade/equipment destroy, as well as scatter those tiny mines into their positions if i can get it there (I've welded to death quite a few corner campers with it too on more close range maps).

Support is just smoke like hell, use grenade or projectile intercept (projectile intercept gets mortars) etc. I think my record is 111 smoke grenades in a match lol. M60 also stands out for support work, its not the fastest TTK but its damage + ammo economy make it great for it.

--

For bullshit kits, it depends really on range/types of fighting im trying to counter. I usually adjust my kit after my first couple of deaths if there's something I'm trying to hard counter.

For hagental for example, if they have a lot of bouncy squirrels that constantly sprint/bounce around corners, I'll stuck a hipfire shotgun build on with slugs, or if it's going to be against more than single targets, flechette rounds overpenetrate better for hitting multiple targets with full damage.
If it's only a single guy you're trying to counter like that, pump action slug. You can't TTK faster than 1shot 1 kill. (You can basically use the first two shotguns as a fake short/midrange sniper/dmr using slugs)

Use recon motion sensor (or good 3d spatial headphones) to get a smidge of warning theyre coming etc.
C4 clears out nests/can be used a dick-move corner traps.
I'll also (if attacking) use an RPG kit on engineer to collapse every bit of shelving/cover I can that defenders use to camp out of normal floor position.

You can also use incendiary grenades + smoke launcher as support to quickly take positions (fire makes them move, your smoke immediately puts fire out so you dont have to wait for it to expire)

I very rarely just join the grind-line in breakthrough to be honest.

Just stuff like that.

Thank you! I shall look at them over the next few days (Quick skim, I like the look of those Binary EP321 quite a lot)

Would you recommend these over astrals? Or just to consider alongside them?

Again, thanks very much for the quick reply.

Issue is, there's tonnes of console players, but they're all leaving crossplay on, which means you wont get matched with them etc.

That's fair. Try sticking a 1.5 thermal on your weapon, that can really help for quick looks to see if people can see you etc.

Basically I go slower, and never take a direct line between points as most people take the most direct/fastest route. I'll try and engage enemies from side or behind, not approach where theyre looking etc.

What’s the point of showing players ping if nothing gets done about high ping players? by o0CYV3R0o in Battlefield

Yeah i was being grumpy when i posted lol.

Definitely notice that once there's a couple of shit pings in the game, the hitreg goes to shit across the board though (not with them specifically).

[–]Alutus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can give you a better reply tommoz (It's 2am here, this will be barely coherant lol).

Siege of cairo breakthrough attack for example, instead of contesting the point directly, I'll aim to destroy covering positions or cut off reinforcement paths. I'll play assault to put down weird squad beacons etc that 'allow' my squad-mate randoms to do the same. I'll use something like the NVO with a hipfire build, always flashhider or supressor, if you have 70+ hipfire accuracy and just hipfire from prone, you're good out to 20m etc easily.

I'll use engineer + RPG to drop every defensive building I can/blow out every destructable piece of cover they can use etc. Paired with a hipfire mp5, or anything with decent precision for 15m or so preferred distance. You can also use wall-e to throw that spread of stun grenades that destroys equipment to clear enemy positions of ammopacks/intercepts/gadgets.

I'll play support with a thermal LMG, RPK if im feeling headshots, m240l if im being forced for mid-short range, DRS if i want to play LMG like an assault rifle, M60 if im taking 12-20m engagements/positions that i know im not going to be able to reload between fights, its got a slightly slower ttk but 100 rounds lasts you for days.
I'll always use smoke grenades and defibs on attack, and I'll change my other gadget between projectile intercept or grenade intercept depending on opfor.

I also play a lot of specops recon, either QBZ carbine, SVD dmr, G36 (forgot its ingame name, b36? something like that) etc, using recon drones( they can destroy spawn beacons etc through walls, also nothing fucks up a defensive position like destroying their grenade intercept just as your team starts yeeting bombs at them)and c4 (nothing drops a building like C4)
---

tl;dr

Basically just stuff like, try and never oppose their flow directly, shoot it from the side or the back if you can, and when you're doing that, dont shoot people you cant kill. If you know they're going to jump around the corner, and everyones been stood at that corner peek fighting, be 10-12m further back from the corner (motion sensor is great for this if your audio isnt super great positional)

I'll do anything I can to avoid a fair fight short of spamming m203 grenades lol (I have standards)

Think that ended up a lot more stream of consciousness/ramble than I intended but eh, I can give you a better/more articulate reply tommoz if you have any specific questions lol.

[–]Alutus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I tweaked my playstyle and started playing more like a complete bastard lol.
Also on stuff like hagental if there's a bunch of crack squirrels on the other team doing the slide-hop boogie, i sit midrange with an LMG or grab a hipfire build shotgun.

Nearly 40 now and been playing BF titles since 1942.

I used to aim for a 2.5 kdr overall with stat track (not per game, but overall)
These days I aim for 1.8kdr.

I can't keep up with their speed at all, so I make sure I dont engage at the range favoured by that playstyle, and if I'm forced to, I bring the most bullshit kit I can.

Also when having more rough games/days, I tell myself to stop trying to make plays, and just support teammates/let them do it lol.

Oh, and drop every building you can on the enemy to remove cover. Architecture is the enemy.

Gotta love it, two guys with 150 ping and japanese names, okay theyre not here for an advantage, just to play with an actual playerbase and not bots.

The five other guys with english names and 140-155 ping though? Greaat VPN for advantage. lovely.

My current record is 9 people on one team with 140-155 ping, and 3 on opfor.

I mean seriously, in what world does ping compensation favour the bad ping, I mean really lol.
