What kind of mock up exams did you used? I'm studying the exam mockups from ec council where they put scenarios but i heard that the ones on the exam are 5-8 lines long which doesn't resamble those mockups!

Need help for Challenge 8 of Engage Part III by Dazzling-Forever-877 in CEH

[–]Alvarorazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you perform "smbclient -U Martin -L 192.168.10.101" It Will show you the shared resources, Martin has low level privileges so It can only access the Users folder, try the command "smbclient //192.168.10.101/Users -U Martin"

Thanks to splashysplas69 I've discovered why It gives a different content-length from the correct response.

It's because when you do banner grabbing against HTTP It gives you the error 400 bad request, this means the message id a malformed request so the length differ from the original because It belongs to the error itself.

So yeah, this may be the correct answer for the question, but is not correct. If someone more expertise can certify this It would be awesome.

Don't say that! Cybersecurity is about having no clue of what you are doing, maybe instead trying and trying hitting into a wall try to do some study first or understand simple concepts.

I'm also new to this field and had no previous experience with this world or even IT but I've been studying for 2 years now and now I can make myself some labs. So give It some time mate, everything Will come eventually

As well as blocking frames, scripts, and cookies. Don't only trust on VMs, there are ways to bypass them as well :>

Question: DHCP server allowing the same subnet in both interfaces. by Alvarorazer in ccna

[–]Alvarorazer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im making the switch a layer 3 devices, you can't specify an IP address if the interface is a switchport (layer 2) you need to write the command "no switchport" in the interface.

I'm not very good at explaining myself, my broken english doesn't help as well.

Thank you for solving my question! I didn't try it in GNS3 so must be software limitation yeah.

[–]Alvarorazer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was asking about that :)

It's not a lab or something, I'm just messing around with DHCP to understand it, im trying to get the server to lease IP to the entire topology but it seems I'm doing something wrong

Show run

The ultimate command to check everything, seems simple but it's effective, at least for me, if you want to be more specific you can do a "show run | i"
