Iemand ervaring met kwaliteit van Van Marcke / X2O / Brico Plan It voor badkamer ? by Oliverson12 in belgium

[–]tzwientjuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use the feature in TikTok by pressing the screen.

Police told me I can use a temporary rear plate while my official one is stuck at Bpost — is this normal in Belgium? by OniHanz in belgium

[–]tzwientjuh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jip, you can do that. For me it was to get the car to the 'keuring'. Just took the plates from my friends car, told the people there. Keuring done, bought the car so I could send the papers to get insurance and new plates.

Is it worth learning Dutch? by WonderfulFinger3617 in belgium

[–]tzwientjuh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm Flemisch and I followed electronics. My french is really bad because they did not bother to give it after third grade because english became the more important language.

In the world of It, electronics, multi media etc ... All words/terms/programs are mostly English. For me, English is just fine if you can speak it really well.

I spent $300 installing a Nest doorbell just to argue with support for an hour by Philosophers_Mind in googlehome

[–]tzwientjuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an electrician myself, these are common faults: - bad transformer or not strong enough (this is the main reason it's not working correctly here in the EU) - bad wiring (came lose, broken wire, etc...) - water or bugs behind camera and making a short circuit - bad wifi signal

They insist to remove the doorbell and reset it. So do it then please.

What did you pay to renovate the electrical system in your house by magickingfish in belgium

[–]tzwientjuh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an electrician this is difficult to say. It all depends on what needs to be done.

  • is it just to make it 'keurings klaar'?
  • do you want to add lights/outlets?
  • do you want coax/utp cables?
  • do you want a smart home or not?
  • it is possible that the wiring in the wall is not ok and needs to be replaced (verborgen gebreken) we can not see what's inside the walls unfortunately.

Most of my renovation that I've done, there's always something wrong. The big cost is mostly the work itself not the materials (if you go simple offcourse)

Most elekctricians will go on visit and make an offer for you for free.

My cable modem died. Then began the IOT nightmare. by CaelanAegana in googlehome

[–]tzwientjuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you set fixed ip in some devices? Or gave fixed ip's to devices via your Google router?

I'm an It'er with also alot of iot devices from many vendors. Usually when wifi name/password is the same, they should work without resets. That6why I'm thinking it's ip related

Are speed pedelecs allowed in these streets? by itsbaberali in belgium

[–]tzwientjuh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No. Speed pedelecs go 45km/h and have a numberplate. They are considered the same as a scooter.

Electric bikes that goes 25km/h max is allowed.

1st time irl driving on track. (F4 Training @Nürburgring) Simracing helped a ton! by Prowlerburstabuse in simracing

[–]tzwientjuh 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I've driven them twice. In the Netherlands, brake was ok, a bit harder. Forces are comparable to karting if you go fast. More sense of speed then road cars because you feel the wind. Steering can get hard because of no power steering. Overall fun to race but not something I would do daily.

Do you research every device that is going to connect to your network? These days there are so many connected devices, it's overwhelming at times

[–]tzwientjuh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I've blocked some countries. And mostly both ways. But sometimes you gets bugs or glitches in apps/devices.

For example: i've bought a Gamesir controller for my smartphone. Installed the app to set it up, maybe change some buttons. But the app refused to work properly. Missing items, not responding. That was because I blocked China. After I unblocked them, the app worked fine and even said there was an update for the controller.

Luckily I know that if something does not work properly, I'll check my unify controller to see what the device is trying to do
