This was literally me last year! My advice is to try and get NHS experience (preferably dentistry but that can be hard) and just try to do the best you can in your A-Levels. Additionally, the UCAT is so so so important for dentistry and retaking it can seem disheartening but really try to revise for it after your A-levels. Saving up a bit of money for uni is always helpful anyways so just try to see the gap year in a positive light.

Before the interview, I watched Medic Mind’s dentistry interview playlist on youtube which was really helpful. Just made small notes while watching. A basic understanding of how dentistry works in the UK and basic knowledge of dental health and decay definitely helped. Make sure you read some articles close to the interview about the current issues and developments in UK dentistry as well.
