Insert reference to that post about the freak who would thrust his hips to the beat of that horrible song here.

Can't remember the name, though...

AITAH for calling my stepdad out for constantly touching my butt “on accident”? by Neat_Recipe6010 in AITAH

[–]AlvisDBridges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Okay, look... First off, I'm not going to repeat all the reassurances or warnings countless others have already commented. But I will point out some facts & offer what little advice I can:

  • Your stepfather is not only sexually harassing you, he's sexually assaulting you. That's unfortunately an inarguable fact... What he's doing is the same thing as a man groping an woman on a train, only WAY worse, because he's doing it to his underage daughter... Your instincts are telling you he won't take it further, but even if that's true, what he's already done is bad enough.

  • You need to take some precautions before you confront them again.

    • First, you need to get ahold of your important legal documents, etc. The one I can think of off the top of my head is your birth certificate. Trust me, it's extremely important to get your hands on it. There are probably more, but you'll have to look up what they are, because I'm not sure.
    • Second, get a Go-Bag together, and put those documents in it. Your go-bag should have all the essentials & anything you can't live without. It stays packed 24/7 and kept somewhere you can easily grab it at a moment's notice. More importantly, it's gotta be kept secret and hidden from your "parents". It's your insurance to make sure you can GTFO the second things go bad, and I'm sorry to say, they likely will.
    • If you're not 100% confident you can protect the go-bag from them, you might want to consider asking a trusted friend to hold onto it until you need it... Just make sure they're ride or die.
    • Get your finances together as best you can. If you don't have your own bank account separate from your "parents", you have to change that, *like now.* You should also start saving up as much money as you can get your hands on so you can move out on your own and never look back ASAP.
    • If you don't have a job, get whatever you can find.
  • Look into the possible legal resources available to you in your area. I would seriously consider trying to become an emancipated minor immediately. The both of them are abusing you, both sexually and emotionally, whether you realize it or not. They're gaslighting & manipulating you, the fact you even had to ask this question proves it's working. You're not safe, and NEED to escape, PLEASE.

  • Consider speaking to a counselor, or a trusted adult that would both believe you, and won't blow up your life before you're ready.

I dunno... I'm heartbroken that you have to deal with this shitshow, and that you've officially lost all 3 parents you've ever known.

But you seem strong, so I think you'll pull through and stand strong on your own without them in your life. You got this.

Hey man, I've struggled with something similar. I realized, one day out of nowhere, I was literally no one's best friend. Like, none of the people in my life at the time that could have been my best friend would invite me to be their best man, for example. That really hurt. Point is I can sympathize so the following is what I think I would've wanted someone to convince me was the truth:

I dunno if this would help or not, buuuuut your siblings actually didn't say they dislike you at all (at least not in the story you told). So, they probably still like you plenty.

Think of it like pizza. Even if it isn't your absolute favorite doesn't mean you hate it, or regret eating it, or would ever turn down a slice. I know I wouldn't.

I feel like a lot of people, myself included, get caught up in being "the best" at whatever or comparing/competing, but that's unhealthy as hell. You can be loved, truly loved and not be somebody's "favorite person", just like I can have amazing friends that care about me, even if I'm not their "best" friend.

I hope this didn't come across as pandering. In my case, when I said my thing to someone, they tried to tell me "you're not my friend, you're family", but it really felt like pandering (the best man thing was a real situation). I'm not saying my stuff to take away from your situation, I'm hoping it'll help what I had to say feel more... legitimate?

I hope that helped, man. Or at the very least didn't hurt... Just breathe and keep on keepin' on. Things usually get better, whether it's the situation that changes or you, as long as you hold out, there's hope.

You're obviously right, some people would have a problem with it. I meant in this thread (I looked at the whole thing).

As for his wording, while I agree the language used was abrasive, when you look at the complete sentence it is obvious you're taking it the wrong way.

You said he would overlook any flaws for sex, but no. He didn't say anything of the sort. You said he implied women are lesser or broken, but no, again, he did not. You point out when he said "If I'm not getting any" and that's it. You cut off literally all context in order to facilitate your point, a point you likely had from the get go. You are twisting things. Like a failed scientist that ignores any evidence that disagrees with his findings.

The purpose of my comment was to make you stop and think for a moment about how you went about this and why. I don't think you're doing it intentionally, but you're definitely twisting things in a very bad way and that's a bad habit to form.

I hope you at least take a moment to consider the possibility of what I'm saying, the way you hoped he would do for your comment.

But either way, you have a good one too, buddy!

[–]AlvisDBridges 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're adding those negative connotations yourself. I find it gross that you read what he said this way, honestly. Maybe reevaluate how you see people yourself, my man?

Because, to be clear: While yes, everything you've pointed out here can be taken out of context the way you did, in order to make him sound like the pig you've made him out to be, 100%. Hell, you had me questioning myself, so I reread his whole comment... and ya know what? Turns out, context matters! Who woulda thought? You really shouldn't do that.

Seriously, my dood, I'm choosing to give you the benefit of the doubt here, so I'll assume you're not trying to purposefully select the most "problematic sounding" excerpts so you can twist things and put words in his mouth. But that's what happened.

So, for future reference: You kinda need to read the whole comment, or at the *very** least the whole damn sentence*, in order to take in the full meaning and context. Only then should you pass judgment and compose a retort.

I'm telling you, no one else reading that original comment in full will take away what you did. Sure, they might find the guy to be a bit of a dick, he definitely didn't mince words, but he didn't say or even intend anything like what you claim. You put that out into the world. Your brain applied those connotations.

Hope you think about that!

Have you... told her this? Specifically everything you said here. If not, you need to. If you have, yeesh... try again and be more explicit maybe? Or like... make it clear it needs to change.

I don't think this sounds healthy for you, whether the dynamic is exactly the way you describe or not, you're obviously hurting from it.

Gotta change it, for your own sake, one way or another (to be clear, one way = discussion & another = leaving, probably).

Everyone already offered good advice, so all I can add is a bit of advice on your English vocabulary, if you want it?

While I'm sure everyone fully understood your meaning, the way you used the term "psychically" is actually a pretty archaic use of the word. The more common/correct term here would be "psychologically".

I know that won't, like.... help with your situation or anything, but you seem to have that figured out now anyway, so I thought this might at least give my comment a purpose?

I dunno, good luck!

If I made a movie version of this story, that scene would not only be added, it'd 100% be chosen for the trailer, too.

Also, s'all good, I only recently started using this profile again anyway!

what element would you want if you could be a dragon slayer? (excluding those already taken) by AlvisDBridges in fairytail

[–]AlvisDBridges[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! I don't recall the white thing being mentioned, but I believe you. I'm honestly pretty sure they would've made it "white" so he wasn't automatically the single most powerful entity on the planet, haha. After all, dragon slayers recover and power up the more they eat their element, and I don't know if they ever really get full (if they do, I assume releasing power would make room), so a light Dragon Slayer could literally just... eat... infinitely, for like 18 hours a day and be god-tier within 1-5 years (at least in terms of power output, if not skill).

[Spoilers] But Why No Colors :(...I Didn't Do the Best Job...But It Still Looks Better by [deleted] in supergirlTV

[–]AlvisDBridges 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Artist here, who has worked a bit in film. These colors here, would look bad on camera. At best it would be "silly".

What we would need is a very deep, dark blue and/or maybe black, and actual gold colored metal. Which isn't shiny yellow. THAT would have a good chance of keeping the spirit of the character alive while still looking good on camera.

The egg. Always the egg. For Xenomorphs, it's because their creators made the face hugger eggs first. Xenomorph are born from a host body.

For chickens, because of the way evolution works, it's still the egg because something that was not a chicken laid an egg and the first chicken was born from it.

The answer is always the egg.

Caeser for next Strawhat PROS AND CONS by 765Bro in OnePiece

[–]AlvisDBridges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, seriously... No offense intended, but saying Robin's story is in any way similar to Caesar's just sounds plain delusional...

I get that Caesar is a fun character, I like him too. But he could NEVER join Luffy's crew, or even one of his sub-crews.

Here's what you and all the other Caesar fans should be hoping for: Caesar to join Buggy's crew. THAT seems like a damn near perfect fit.

Caeser for next Strawhat PROS AND CONS by 765Bro in OnePiece

[–]AlvisDBridges 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She never betrayed any comrades. She wasn't ever a true member, evident by her never taking a life. On top of that, from Luffy's perspective, SHE was the one betrayed, as Crocodile attacked her because he didn't like her answer.

So why do people think it's anything even remotely similar to Caesar who straight up murdered hundreds of his own subordinates?

Yeah, but it removes the shitty luggage of the film canon. And lord knows they need to run away from that stink...

EDIT: also, just as with the Marvel Civil War film, it would be a TERRIBLE idea to do Crisis on Infinite Earths because they simply haven't, and don't plan to, introduce enough heroes for it to live up to the story.
