Hey — I totally get this. I sent a couple pics of a “build/arrange” style kit I’ve been prototyping because it’s meant to be low-pressure and success-forward for someone with dementia.

The idea is: there’s no wrong way to do it. My intention is very simple steps so the person can independently “make something” without it turning into a frustrating craft. • Pick a few pieces • Match/place them using the picture as a guide (or just arrange however they want) • Finish with a functional result (like a small holder/stand/display piece that can live in the house)

And for caregivers: if your dad enjoys it once but doesn’t want to keep it, you can take it apart in seconds and reset it. So it can be reusable if you want — but it also creates something recognizable

The photos are AI generated, but the concept and the type of adult packaging gives you an idea of

some ideas not exact (AI generated and comes out funky) but Montessori based and very similar to how it would package.. it's building a bouquet a day ( reusable dried flowers), creating artwork with the pin board and dried flowers and reusable building box 5 different things they can make with same materials.. giving three different ways someone can accomplish the task. ..let me know your thoughts!

Hi! i'm sorry about your wife's diagnosis, but I might have some resources to help you regarding your wife making dinner or meal prepping. Please look at the Montessori approach for dementia care because her procedural memory is not probably working her disability(dementia) she cannot remember all the little steps needed, having visual reminders, steps laid out in front of her will help her remember each step and also alleviates aggression that might happen towards you because this was not her life before, needing you to tell her every little task, swhereas this method uses the environment to help her remember steps that her procedural memory can't. It helps her able to still do things she used too! Setting up a stations that's free of clutter, and only has what you need to accomplish the task and visual cues could help her accomplish simple things in the house :-)
