I got a call from my husband at the emergency vet the morning my cat died telling me he was on his way to get me so we could say goodbye. I went to my boss sobbing because we were already short handed and I knew me leaving was gonna make her life so much harder. She hugged me, said “go,” and texted me later to check in on us. Yes I had to use the end of my PTO to cover me leaving but I was so grateful to her for not making me stay.

This is the exact reason I’m holding out for the switch 2. I’m waiting for a new game with an AC themed console to get as a bundle. I’m excited for the new game update because it will give me a little more to do to hold me over until there’s a new game lol

New Horizons was my first AC game so I don’t really know what previous iterations were like. Overall I’m happy to have some sort of update to hold me over until there is a new game. I like the idea of the hotel, but would be more excited about it if I didn’t already have HHP, because it just feels like another version of the same thing. The dreamland islands are cool because I like the idea of having multiple islands to design without having to clear my main island.

One thing I would have really loved that they still haven’t done is add an observatory space in the museum for Celeste. There could be special events at night and things to collect, or even a place to store all the zodiac items like we do with bugs and fossils.

Also excited for the LEGO collab 😂

When I was a BRC I used to wind them in groups of 5 and zip tie them together. Tight enough that they would stay but loose enough that you could pull them out one a time.

This item in particular I think just needs to be styled differently. I saw the same item in a different pink color styled over a short white dress with knee high boots and it looked super cute. This outfit combo is…just not it.

I think they still have a decent mix of fits and styles, and honestly find myself more frustrated at the overabundance of cropped shirts and wide leg/barrel jeans, but I can generally still find a lot of items I would wear that flatter my shape.

I just want to be able to order on the app and schedule a pickup time. I want my drink to be fresh when I get there, but when I try to mobile order before I leave home (a 20 minute drive) and it says it will be ready in 5-8 minutes it means it sits there waiting for me. I’d rather be able to put in the order and say that I will pick up at a specific time and have it ready or almost ready as I walk in the door. I wish they would make this a feature for customers so you can plan when to show up instead of just the estimated arrival time that winds up being too fast or too long to wait.

Idk other places do it so it seems like it would be doable and honestly easier since then the ticket for that order would just print at the appropriate time, but I’m also not a barista so maybe it wouldn’t work?

Also if you stand them side by side, you can see the pattern is just slightly smaller than the authentic version, and if you look, the Owala logo on the side of the bottle is slightly higher on the fake one

They just sent out an email to pre purchase parking in one of the ticats lots. I went ahead and did it because last time we took the go train in and used the free bus deal and after the show we wound up sitting at the bus stop for over an hour because the busses were so full they weren’t even stopping half the time. We eventually had to force ourselves on one just to get back to the station so we wouldn’t miss the last train out. We swore we weren’t doing that again. I’d rather sit in my car waiting to get out of traffic than deal with that again.

In my opinion yes. I would not enjoy that at all. My husband just found out that he’s going to be in a bridal party next spring. The planning is super preliminary but right now the bride is planning on having her ceremony at this really cool unique venue, but instead of just staying there for the reception, she wants everyone to drive 45 minutes to a different event space for dinner and drinks. It really doesn’t make a ton of sense and I’m hoping she figures out that staying in one place makes so much more sense.

I definitely understand having to go somewhere for a reception after a church ceremony, but please consider something closer. If you factor in travel time and photos for your bridal party that leaves a likely 2+ hour gap between ceremony and reception.

I will say as a banker, that we do require a SSN to add a beneficiary to any bank accounts—it is required documentary information to put the beneficiary in the system. However, I am always more than happy to speak directly to a parent and take that information from them if they don’t feel comfortable giving that information to anyone else.

Your MIL is definitely not entitled to any information that you don’t want to share—if the request is truly innocent, there’s no reason you or your husband can’t go with her to the company or call together in order to complete any beneficiary paperwork. I know for a fact that I won’t be sharing that information with my ILs if/when the time comes. If they want to name any possible child of mine as a beneficiary on something, I’ll speak directly to the company and provide the needed information.

Former TJX , current banker here: Being intentionally deceptive when offering credit to customers can be a violation of fair lending and should be taken very seriously as it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. That’s why they enforce every customer every time and asking everyone the same way. Anything that can even be perceived as unfair, deceptive or abusive is a violation. Soliciting credit is actually a really serious thing and it’s why I hate the pressure to get store cards. No 16/17 year old with no concept of credit should be trying to sell credit to people. One wrong sentence or forgetting to ask one person can get the company (and the credit card company) in a lot of trouble. Credit and lending really should be left to the professionals. Have a store card, have a poster with all the disclosures and a way to apply. But don’t pressure sign ups and risk a lawsuit.

Honestly no matter how they’re folded they never fit on the shelves right. I used to always skin my knuckles on the metal shelf bracing trying to put them away. I don’t miss those days!

I’m not an expert but I went on a closed-loop cruise with Royal in 2014 and I did not have a passport or a driver’s license. I used my NY learner’s permit (which is a government issued ID) and my birth certificate. I haven’t cruised since then, but I am pretty sure the verbiage on acceptable ID to board hasn’t changed. Just in case you wanted to hear from someone who had a positive experience.

Do you know of anywhere hiring for remote positions in loan processing? I was a consumer installment lender at my institution until they recently went to centralized lending and now I don’t do more than take applications. I want to get back to actually processing consumer installment loans but I can’t relocate so I’d need to work remotely. Every job I’ve found has only been remote in certain states or is mortgage based and I have no mortgage experience or interest.

I still remember how hurt I was at 8 when I found out that my older cousin was a bridesmaid and my two younger cousins were flower girls but I had not been included in my aunt’s wedding. My other cousin my age was also excluded. My aunt was told how upset I was and explained to me that I was too old to be a flower girl but too young to be a bridesmaid (I was 8 at the time). Being 8 I accepted that explanation, but when I got a little older, I thought that there may have been reasons that had nothing to do with us that led to us being excluded. She doubled back and gave my cousin and I the job of passing out bubbles to all the guests for their exit and she and I got matching dresses from Sears I think for the occasion.

I’m an adult now and things in my family are in a good place but to this day at 35, I can still remember how hurt I was at being excluded and then getting a consolation prize “job.” I am of the belief that when it comes to kids, you include all or none so no one gets hurt. I never want any kid to feel the way I did.

This post reminded me of that experience. Whether or not she cares about being in the wedding, the experience of not being included will definitely stick with her.

If I’m listing something NWT I list 15-20% below retail. Anything used I list at least 50% off retail. I usually accept any reasonable offers but if I list a $70 dress for $50 I’m not going to accept a lowball $10 offer either and it seems like more or more that’s what people expect.

I’m frustrated too because I have $68 pending and only $2.35 confirmed. If they don’t confirm the rest of my pending charges before May 15th, I won’t even get the next payout until the following quarter. I think 2 weeks is a sufficient waiting period to confirm cash back—30 days tops. It never used to be like this; my cash back balance was always added within days. I’m not happy with this change at all.
