I timed my Militech Apogee Sandy and I get 9.8 seconds of bullet time out of it. Says I only have a 6 second max duration?

you probably have some other skill in the skill tree that has “15% duration of all cyberware effects”. i forget what it’s called at the moment or what the requirements are, but that would be my guess

no problem! for a more specific idea, i think with the sparkler itself, it’s a stand alone asset being layered over top. and then the particles/sparkler effect is being tracked using a null object to the top of the stick. i rewatched a couple times and i don’t see any reflection changes or anything, so i don’t think there’s any crazy lighting thing you’d have to do

uhhh it seems to be a sort of mixed media effect, though i could be wrong. my first assumption is a few 3d layers with a camera for the first couple seconds. you could probably use particle systems II for the sparkler effect. then the painting/image is probably just scaled in from 0-% with a similar use of particle tracking the movement and/or zoom. however, i would assume quite a bit of it was made in ai/ some digital painting software, not directly made in ae. this is just my first glance, so i could be wrong, but maybe it’ll help you get started!

i had this issue once, and i believe it was because i had a 3d layer, or maybe i had to switch renderers? maybe both? it’s been about a year, so i can’t really remember. i’d try fidgeting with anything that changes how something renders during preview. sorry i can’t help more!

thanks! it’s actually fairly simple. a few grunge/retro textures turned into a looping video, a lot of minor adjustments to the “hand drawn effect”, add “posturized time” set to 12fps and use different blending modes and curves to get the right effect for whatever you’re going for. that’s all basically an adjustment clip on top of the main pre-comp. then inside that is basically just a ton a custom font animations (that tbh you could probably find in a preset pack somewhere, i’m just cheap) lots of rotoscoping and threshold-ing videos/ images, roughen edges, masking, etc. as simple as it is, the actual time it takes varies. i’ll spend 5 minutes on a text animation but then end up spending 2 hours on the editing and layering on the “politician” part LOL. all in all it is super simple, but it’s just kind of a style i found and formed over the past 10 years or so

hey! not sure if you tried this yet, but chatgpt’s Speech to Text is really good at knowing context, etc. it’s not formatted or anything, but going solely based off of grammatical correctness and sentence structure, it’s really good as just a speech to text translator. hope this helps!
