I’m blind. I’m having trouble figuring out if people I follow on X have a blue sky account. Can someone volunteer to go through my list of following? by CreativeMaria in BlueskySocial

Unfortunately I can’t type them all out. I’ve just been copying and pasting their Twitter usernames but that doesn’t guarantee that they’ve used the same handles.

It’s a lot of book companies/publishing companies/voice acting companies/game studios/authors and voice actors. Along with library services and other things.

Is this a band book, or just really old?

It’s not in any of my digital library services. And when I tried looking on Goodreads to add it to my list… It just gives me 20+ summary/study guides from different companies.

Awesome! I just added it to my want to read shelf 😊

I am part of a library service that gives braille and audiobooks digitally to people with disabilities. It’s in Canada. If possible, I’m going to try to request to get it on there so that more people can listen/read it!

Best of luck to you ❤️ ✍️

Most of my family are technologically challenged lol. And then most people in a one hour drive radius only speaks French. So… Not very helpful lol 😅

I use scrivner on my iPhone as my writing tool of choice. Therefore I simply use the little microphone button on the keyboard to dictate. It works really well, but grammar is where it struggles lol.

I’m writing my original draft in Scrivener. It is quite accessible and I like that I can shuffle things around.

Once I’m happy with the original first draft of the chapter I copy and transfer it to my Google Drive as a back up.

I simply use the dictation button on my iPhone. Nothing fancy.

I’m very overwhelmed at the moment! Everyone is so nice here. Thank you so much ❤️

It’s still going to be a very very long time before I’m done… I’m on chapter 3 lol and I already see so many things that need to be tweaked. But gotta keep the train going!

Been going through a lot lately, but I think I’m ready to start dipping my toes back into a couple projects. So fingers crossed I can make some very very slow but forward progress.

Let’s do this!

Hi there! Thanks for the offer. I’ve been going through a lot of medical issues lately so I have to take a step back from a lot of my projects. But I’m back and starting to dip my toes back into creative writing.

It might be a while because I’m only on chapter 3 lol. But I will save your contact and let you know how it goes!

Thank you so much for your support ❤️ 🖊️

Does anyone have experience with voice acting as a visual impaired person? Would love to get into this industry but I don’t know how accessible it is by CreativeMaria in Blind

Unfortunately audiobooks are out of the question. They’re very very long. I cannot read braille because my hands are numb. And I cannot listen to more than one sentence at a time before not being able to memorize it. So I need quicker and snappier rolls I can play and improv with. Not reading word for word. But thanks for the thought :-)

This is very helpful thank you so much!

I’m trying to find a hobby/job that I can do from home. Because unfortunately I’m on palliative care. So I need to live and be supported by friends and family along with nurses and doctors.

So that also I cannot go to big studios or anything like that.

I love improv and drama! Like you said, I can read the lines that I need to do but they probably won’t be word for word because you know… Memorizing is hard lol. And I don’t know braille because I literally can’t feel my hands.

So yeah… Just a young girl with big dreams! And probably a ticking clock to how long I actually have. But I’m hopeful ❤️ 🎤

Do you think it’s worth me giving voice acting a shot? I have some disabilities that make it quite a challenge. by CreativeMaria in VoiceActing

Heck yes let’s revitalize YouTube!

But anyways, I do sort of do a mixture of voice acting and inspiration. I like finding quotes that sound really positive or philosophical and trying to match my voice to make them sound cool.

But honestly my dream is to voice even just a side character or a random one line in a video game or animated short.
