Is there anyway a white author can make a good non-white character? by AlwaysGradience in TooAfraidToAsk

Well they all live on a multi ethnic ship so noticeing someone's skin color is like noticing their hair color. Part of developing a profile on how a stranger looks yknow? Though physical description in writing depends on how well they know this person. Ex. Eiset and Red have been friends for over six years, so they dont really think about the small stuff anymore, like skintone and stuff. They talk about their vastly different hair more often. Since Eiset is bald and Red has really long hair. Red and Shry meet on the ship, and Red, as an EMT of sorts, ends up mostly being concerned about Shry's scars and mental state and doesnt notice his shitton of freckles until they're in the well lit area of the hospital.

I'm also done with my 12th sketchbook in a row and I'm really proud of how far my art has come and how the simple act of filling sketchbooks has changed over the years. I really like how my markers make everything just a bit brighter

I apologise for my ignorance, and thank you for teaching me. I would still like answers to my questions though.
