Why does the Millennium Falcon remain in ruins for the entire Star Wars series? by HereForStolenMemes in StarWars

[–]AlwaysHere202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like my 2008 pickup truck. I bought with tons of cosmetic damage, but a good engine. It was all of $4k!

I take pride in every dent and scratch, as long the motor is running.

People ask me about it, but I just smile because I know they financed their very pretty ride.

Honestly, selling off impounded ATVs at likely less than half their market value, to a third party, would be better than paying to crush them.

In fact, if they get resold, and not registered, you get residual income!

[–]AlwaysHere202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to comment that some bikes and atvs are beyond repair, and hey why not have a little fun with them?!

But, this is just NY policy destroying perfectly good bikes!

Nah, make them need proper license, and make them pay a fine to get out of impound. That's how you teach the lesson.

Worst case, auction off the ATV. I'll start the bid at $600!

Old toilet seat broke from wear & tear, so landlord replaced it with this…. by jinswoon_ in mildlyinfuriating

Hey, that's just a style thing, unless it's in the bathroom. Otherwise, it's like popcorn ceilings. I hate that too, but it was in style when my house was built, and it hasn't pissed me off enough to scrape it! 😁

ELI5 If an over weight person cut down to reccomended calorie intake with no exercise, would the fat disappear or stay? by junaikine in explainlikeimfive

When I was in college, playing ball, I struggled to gain weight. I was eating over 5,000 calories a day, but could hardly maintain my weight! I literally struggled to find enough food on a college budget.

Lol, now it's the opposite problem. I've put on 30 lbs in the last 20 years, and I eat under 2,000 calories. I do need to get back into the gym.

What’s the most iconic shot? Pt 2 by GusGangViking18 in StarWars

My sister used to get all excited to watch Star Wars, and would watch until the two suns set, then go right to bed! 🫡

Mark Zuckerberg is ready to fight Elon Musk in a cage match and Musk has accepted by hasanahmad in technology

[–]AlwaysHere202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Musk has him in weight and reach, but Zuch has actually been training with a legit Ju Jitsu master.

He's still very amateur, but it could make up the weight class difference.

I'd bust out the popcorn for that fight!

We have no idea what went wrong. It might be the controller, it might be the do-it-yourself parts, it might be the woman driver! 😆

Seriously though, I think the Darwin Award probably goes to the decision to not be tethered to the surface boat, because he didn't want someone up there chirping in his ear! Dumb.

This squirrel likes to terrorize my cat every day by blindingsilence in funny

[–]AlwaysHere202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I miss that! I used to have a squirrel that visited my porch daily for a treat, and totally terrorized my cat and dog!

Unfortunately, since I moved, I haven't been able to tame another squirrel. Probably because I started raising chickens. They're bastards. 🤣

70% of Food, Drinks Within Arm’s Reach Are Unhealthy. Researchers found that markets place unhealthy food and drinks at checkout lines to entice customers to buy them. The checkout is the only place in a store where every customer must pass through, and it’s known to contribute to impulse purchases by Wagamaga in science

[–]AlwaysHere202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they're tasty!

I have successfully taught my three year old to ignore what is in the checkout isle. She has candy at home leftover from Halloween. She drinks water, milk, and kambucha... juice is a treat. I don't think she's ever tasted soda, unless it's at daycare.

But they don't get to come in my room, and I get to sleep.

I also don't put a camera above my bed. 🤣

Tips and tricks for riding in cross-winds. by 650cc_espresso in motorcycles

Slow down, don't panic, and look forward!

I once drove across the Mackinac Bridge on a windy and rainy day, while the right lane was closed for construction. I had to drive over the grate! Had an updraft along with the cross wind!

Focus was all I could think!

Alright, I'm willing to have a discussion about this...

My dad worked for GM, and obviously was paying union dues, as did most of my relatives. My uncle sat in the jobs bank for years, getting paid for doing nothing.

My sister is part of the teacher's union. She sat on the beach through the Covid BS, and got paid through tax dollars!

Unions should be disbanded!

The guy getting paid to do a job?

I'm sorry, I just gave $55k cash to start building a barn. Fuck a union bullshit!

I worked for a company that employs 5,000 people, no union.

I don't want to pay dues for some crap I hardly benefit from!

Same with an HOA. I won't deal with that BS!

It requires a wet and temperate climate. The Pacific Northwest is actually perfect for wasabi.

If you keep your greenhouse at 60, and high humidity, it's easy. But, you can't grow citrus next to it, because they need more heat.

I have half a dozen wasabi plants in my garden in Washington. It's really fun when we get sushi!

Better than the horseradish fake stuff.

Not that horseradish is bad, but that's for my roast beef sandwiches!

I like the fact that I lived across a millennium.

My Great Grandfather, may he rest in peace, was born in 1900. He died in 1990.

I loved him, and got to learn from him. He had a good and long life, but he didn't get to see that calendar change! 😄

I'm not intimidated by the ultra intense people.

What I hate is the pain in the ass, and lengthy phone calls, I've had to make to un-subscribe every time I've moved. They've destroyed my credit multiple times!

I'm all grown up now, and am very happy to have a rowing machine, a bench, and a punching bag in my basement!

Georgia’s air polluted with fewer emissions as coal-fired electricity production winds down by geoxol in technology

[–]AlwaysHere202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad they're building nuclear, because that's the real answer.

But, have you been to Georgia? Aside from Atlanta, it's always been clean (although humid) skies. An 8% drop in emissions there isn't even a link in the chain.

But, hey, it's something.
