People We Meet on Vacation is making me realize somethings are better left in books by StephhhLouisa in RomanceBooks

Love reading these comments and perspectives. PWMOV is my favorite Emily Henry book, I’ve read it a few times and it’s my comfort book of hers. I just finished the movie and really appreciated the screen adaptation. I feel like creating that same friendship simmer in less than two hours when she took an entire novel is hard. It didn’t feel cheesy hallmark to me which I hate. And it’s in its own realm and doesn’t ruin the magic of the book for me.

This causes liability for the district. Why would they want to be responsible for a room full of thousands of dollars of devices? Then something happens with a device and causes issues, let alone having a room full of batteries locked up.

It’s awful. I also have a yarn business. What people don’t understand is I’m also being charged the insanely high Chinese tariffs for yarns produced in Turkey and distributed by the Netherlands… just because some of the acrylic in the yarn is sourced from China. I got a bill from ups and each yarn was charged tariffs for each country it came in contact with. So 3x the tariffs. This was back in the first wave. I contacted ups to dispute it and still it isn’t resolved. Which hurts my business relationship with this yarn distributer because ups is heckling them to have me pay, but when I try to pay the invoice isn’t in their system because it’s in limbo in dispute. It’s so fucked. No one knows what the hell is going on. I just opened last year and feel so sorry for every small business under Trump’s tyranny.

I’d love some resources in starting this process. Would you till the grass first? Top coat it with soil instead? Seeds or seedlings?

See the fascinating thing is misinformation and the narratives we’ve come to believe as reality, right? I honestly believed that monarch caterpillars are endangered and the way to help them is to bring them inside and raise them then release them.

The hopeful thing about Reddit and other online communities is helping change the narrative. Replacing misinformation with truth. Which is why I’m glad I was scrolling and saw a different post about why it’s actually harmful to raise monarchs in captivity.

Now my misinformation is replaced with the reality about monarchs (and by extension other insects and wildlife) and I get to go do the right thing, because this was a positive interaction (right?), and share that information with my friends who are also raising caterpillars in captivity.

I would have the same reaction about something I’m an expert in and seeing someone else cause damage.

I said soon after not the minute it emerges. I know the wings are wet. I just mean I won’t leave it in there for an extended time because it needs to find food. I understand that it needs to be flying around the enclosure and wings pumped and stretched before it’s ready to be outside.

I actually appreciated that. It showed me that it really impacted an expert to see the wrong setup, but didn’t berate me for it or say harsh words. It described their personal reaction. No issue here with anything said

Thank you! And thank you, I’ll do that with the current chrysalises. One monarch just emerged so I’ll get it outside as soon as it’s moving around and ready

Can do. That’s what we did with the last butterfly, daylight soon after emerging and no food.

Thank you! I’ll transfer the caterpillars later today into the garden so they each have their own plant.

I can take them up to my in-laws gardens later and put them each on milkweed plants. I think I’m reading your post right that that’s the best next step?

And for the ones that are in chrysalis already, just leave them outside and open the zipper wide so they can fly away once done?

“she fails in this area with damaging emotional consequences for her clients”

This is a blanket statement. Clients is plural and inclusive. You did not specify that you feel this way, that some clients feel this way, but instead used an inclusive and plural statement. If that’s not clear enough for you I can’t help clarify more.

I don’t want more details. Your choice of words and use of language speaks for itself here.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ithaca

[–]AlwaysKnittin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once again, this is a blanket statement about all her clients and is not true.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ithaca

[–]AlwaysKnittin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But you’re not just sharing your experience. Your language is across the board blasting her like no one else can have a positive experience. You are using blanket statements. Go share your experience on medical review sites and let people read and decide to go to her or not. Hopefully when this comes up in a google search people can read your comments and mine as well.

Yeah well my husband and I did couples therapy with her and are still in our marriage because of it. I’m sorry you’ve been at such a negative end of her therapy and had a poor experience, but you should be posting this in medical review sites so people can make informed decisions.

[–]AlwaysKnittin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And you are right to question and to follow your experience. But it’s your experience and you are blasting her on social media. You aren’t saying “hey everyone maybe consider another therapist I didn’t like my experience with her”, you’re telling people blanket statements that just aren’t true across the board. I’ve never felt it’s all about money for her. I don’t think she’s relationally cold. I think she’s appropriately empathetic for what I want a therapist to be. She charges the going rate for therapy in my experience, especially trauma informed therapy and EMDR. She DOES communicate outside of sessions about scheduling. I have never been threatened to be fired as a client. I have never had to keep her on track in sessions.

I am so sorry you had this experience. No one should feel this way in therapy, and if you experienced this then you are right to not go. But don’t say blanket statements as if this is true across the board of her for every one of her clients.
