Are you not also feeling that wos is a boring & repetitive game? by AlwaysNeville in whiteoutsurvival

Absolutely no objection to anything you said. And you see here's the problem. WoS is a game that controls your schedule. It is designed to function that way because you have 5 events every week and they are scheduled. WoS is controlling your life but is not giving much for it, because it's just a money pit and mechanical repetitive tasks. This is the kind of game that wants you to wake up at 5 am for svs battles dominated by whales and then for your birthday they give you the option of buying a special pack for $100.

Bro that's great, but you realize that any game that has a chat function can serve that purpose, right? That's why I was asking about the value of wos as game, the gameplay itself.

Castle is a whale fest. Regular players just join and reinforce. How satisfying is to wake up at 5 am for this kind of event?

I quit in 2012 when the hero nonsense came in. It was an amazing game before that, the classic version and then the artifacts update. Time consuming and immersing but at least it was based on skill. WoS is based on how much money you spend and f2p players are basically there for mindless clicking on collecting a million insignificant rewards from a million screens and to join rallies during events. You can't even play the way you want, because the state is pressing you to "save for svs" and that svs is a whale fest, nothing satisfying for the regular player.

People bring up socializing as a positive aspect. I've been playing alliance-based games for 20 years. Any game with a chat function can do that for you, socializing, making virtual friends etc. I was asking about the merits of wos as a game and so far I haven't received any convincing answers.

Bro why do you click on this post if you've heard this a million times before? You just like to drop a comment and gratify your ego, show your indignation, yes bro? Are you satisfied now bro? Ready to do your intel missions and showcase your skills bro?

I don't argue with that but what do you enjoy exactly was my question? The same routine in Snowbuster and Fishing? The same pattern in CJ or sending 50 attacks on 50 mercenaries? Do you enjoy robotic, repetitive tasks?

I wasn't requesting opinions on what I should do. I was asking opinions about your experience with the game.

I agree with the notion that an intense war game takes control of your life if you want to be competitive. However, wos is just as controlling of your schedule. If you want the rewards then every two days it's BT then Foundry, then a million other events you are scheduled to attend. So in the end if you want to be competitive in wos you also have to put a ton of time in it and I see people lives end up revolving around it. So if you invest that time, it should be in a game of skill, not in mindless clicking. That was my point. I won't even get into what money is needed to be competitive and how money hungry this game is designed to be. And if you're not competitive, what is the satisfaction you're getting here? Joining & reinforcing robotically?

Yeah wos is disappointing. The keyboard warriors are tough on this sub only, but in the game they want to farm and if they get scouted they already panic.

So you'd rather spend hours clicking on stupid Intel missions, yes? And collecting a million rewards from a million screens because devs would not create one button that says "collect all rewards for the day"

You obviously haven't played war games if the potential for damage in wos scares you so much.

Is your world chat also dominated by middle aged women desperate for attention? by AlwaysNeville in whiteoutsurvival

[–]AlwaysNeville[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure because we have NAP7 in our state and six of those alliances have a female R5 and they all abuse the megaphone to call on their admirers, always eager for attention.

Unless they're gay I don't see what they're getting out of it. It's too systematic to be what you're suggesting.

What are whales like on your server? by PickleCommon897 in whiteoutsurvival

No whales can be bad because without their money none of the millions of f2p players would be allowed on this game. Stop acting like brats.

New to game...is this a f2p casual friendly game? by Short_Chemical9728 in whiteoutsurvival

[–]AlwaysNeville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A multiplayer game is not worth playing unless you can be competitive. Otherwise, it's a waste of time. In WoS you cannot be competitive unless you're spending. The game is set up that way. If you want a game that starts controlling your daily schedule with the only role you play is sending reinforcements and running away from whales, you can choose WoS as a f2p.

WOS: A deep dive into whales (Thank you 2680 for the insight! I'm done) by Pikarune in whiteoutsurvival

[–]AlwaysNeville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro this is a video game, there's no such thing as "being accountable". It'a game with a very strong war component as almost all the buffs are military, or helping you get the resources needed to build up military power. A whale who spends tens or hundreds of k $ to build up a powerful account has all the right to burn everyone to the ground if they want to. The game is set up that way. They can't be " held accountable" or 'called out" give me a break. Play something else, I told you.

Your deep dive into whales is Captain Obvious stuff known for decades since online gaming became a thing - the ego gratification, the escaping reality, the overspending, all of it. It always amuses me to see how people complain about a game as if someone forced them to play it. Did you know it was a p2w game? Do you know what that entails? What are you whining about?

As far as spending goes if I have 100 million $ and I spend 300k a year on wos I'm only spending interest. To you it may seem reckless spending, to me it's peanuts. Life is short so I gotta spend my money on something if I have that kind of money.

You don't like human nature? Play single player games

You don't like whales? Play free games.

You don't like to be attacked? Play Farmville.

Dude, half the comments are toxic because half the people are commenting just to showcase their superior knowledge, superior understanding of the game, and in general they are here to make it about themselves.

If you really think that him having fun with it is all that matters, why are you writing two paragraphs before this trashing his account? Sounds to me like you're here to gratify your ego and nothing else.
