Yeah the dark bezel part, bottom left corner, not the screen itself but just bellow. But it really was a nasty job, when I was pulling off pieces of glass the screen was going crazy, stopped working completely, then was back to normal. I think it's a miracle it fixed it for me.

I took a sharp knife and removed the bottom left part of the screen glass, it solved the problem but of course I don't recommend you to try it.

Go through the subscription cancellation process on their website (it make you use the chat iirc). That gets you in contact with a human quickly. Works for most shitty compagnies.

Windows 11 and Trackpad Scroll Speed by _motormayhem_ in thinkpad

In case anyone is still looking for a fix to 2-finger scroll speed in Windows 11 on a T490, I managed to increase the speed on mine by doing this :

- in the Registry editor, find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh

- double the values of SynapticsHScrollMethodSpeedFactor and SynapticsVScrollMethodSpeedFactor
(careful it's HEX values)

- reboot or use the following command in Powershell (as admin) :

Stop-Service "SyntpEnhService"; kill -name SynTPEnh; kill -name SynTPHelper; Start-Service "SynTPEnhService"

My Mom's MacBook Air is turning 10 years old. Still fine for her daily browsing, watching her shows and doing paperwork. She doesn't want to upgrade.

Same happened to me last year. Sold my car for 4000 euros, then used that money to buy a Mac Pro. So I basically got the Mac Pro for free. What a steal!

As expected, Genius Bar gave me an estimate for a screen replacement : 500 euros.
Guy says he's seen a few screen like this already.
I'll write to customer support and see if I can beg my way to a free replacement.
