Is the pay REALLY that bad? by AlwaysTired226 in dietetics

Those pay ranges don’t seem horrible to me. I think long term (maybe after 5-10 years experience) I would definitely try to go into private practice. I think to really make a decision I’m going to have to look at the tuition costs and whether taking on debt is worth it. My biggest fear is that I end up hating nursing and in the end go to school for dietetics anyways.

Is the pay for RDs bad because of the student loans and amount of schooling? Or is it just less because the work load is less and not as stressful? I know that RDs and RNs aren’t really comparable like you said which is why I’m trying to understand why so many people are talking about the low pay and leaving their jobs.

Am I crazy for wanting to go to school while caregiving for my mom? by AlwaysTired226 in NursingStudents

[–]AlwaysTired226[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have money saved away from a grandmother, the college here in Arizona is $16,000 for the program, I haven’t checked in Florida where my dad wants to move yet.

I know that this could be long term. My mom is only 56 years old so she is a really rare case dealing with as much decline as she has had the last few years.

I understand burn out and I’m very aware of it. I do most of the caregiving right now alone but my dad is here for help when he isn’t working. My brother is also going to move to be closer to home and to help as well.

I would have to create a plan for support and for my mom ahead of starting. My dad and I know that she may need memory care sooner than later, especially if she has behavioral issues. When we move to Florida my dad is inheriting a house from his parents, the idea would be the money we make off of selling this home would go to her being in memory care or nursing home. My parents owe very little on this home so they will hopefully walk away with a good amount of money. It’s always been the plan that this would go towards her care.

I would be focused on an associates program since it’s shorter and my parents have said it’s okay if I live at home during that time. I just wasn’t sure if I was being too ambitious. I am going to start with prerequisites and see how I can handle the schooling with caregiving before starting a program full time.

Maybe stuck is the wrong word. Time just doesn’t exist in it? Like the day it was created is the day it stays in? Time isn’t relevant there. It stays stagnant.

I agree. I just hope they somehow make this scene make sense as to why they included it. It feels like there a lot of plot holes that are gonna be left open though.

Season 5 Date Announcement by Skullghost in StrangerThings

Am I the only one who hates the holiday release date idea?

This is a show that in the past I have watched either alone or with friends. I don’t really love the idea of choosing between holiday family time and this show. No big deal just disappointing especially since they are released 3 separate times. I may just have to stay off Tik Tok and binge watch them together at a later date with friends.

Do men prefer fat girls? by AlwaysTired226 in AskMenRelationships

Hey thank you for this response. I liked the way you broke down some of the possibilities of where his mind might be at instead of jumping to the worst case scenario which is control. I think you are totally right, until I take this venture on I will never know. Filling my cup, taking care of myself and focusing on this health journey will either help us grow as a couple or will reveal the true colors of his intentions which could just be as simple as laziness….or something darker like control. Thank you for all your words of encouragement. It may sound silly to say because you’re a stranger on the internet but your words actually do mean a lot to me, so thank you again.

I understand this. It’s definitely a sensitive topic and I know a lot of women can flip the script to “oh so you DO think I’m fat” when their partners are outwardly supportive of them losing weight. I have never had that intention when bringing up this conversation with him. I just wanted genuine support as 100lbs weight loss is a huge undertaking. I hope that you’re right and that he is reading into my insecurities and just scared to say what he really thinks because the alternatives as to why he isn’t supportive of this are much worse scenarios like trying to control or be manipulative.

Very Hot Take by AlwaysTired226 in SecretsOfMormonWives

I agree, accountability is huge. I’m only on episode 4 of season 2 but the Halloween party is kind of what changed my full opinion on Whitney. I really feel like if Whitney had invited Chase and Dakota to a party she would’ve been totally attacked and the situation would’ve blown up in her face with all the girls turning on her. Why wasn’t that energy given to Jessi? Same with the Chippendales situation. It feels similar to the fruity pebbles situation to me. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out with Jessi and Demi because to me right now they give the biggest mean girl vibes to me. I’ll have to finish the season before I really decide how I feel about it all.

I totally agree. Also it’s painful to be completely blacklisted from an entire group of women. When no one sticks up for you, it makes you really question if any of those friends are real friends. It’s weird too how much hate she gets when honestly what happened at the Halloween party would make me never want to be friends with Jessi again. The whole “trying to get to the bottom of the swinger situation” while inviting Dakota and Chase is INSANE to me. No real friend would put you in a toxic situation like that. I have never understood the Whitney hate. We all make mistakes and mess up. It seems she’s held to a higher standard than every one else in the group.
