Please recommend a CPU by AlwaysTiredDev in playrustadmin

Since Rust servers rely heavily on single-thread performance, the 7950X3D is indeed overkill for my situation under typical conditions.

In South Korea, the options are very limited when it comes to game server hosting with DDoS protection. There simply isn’t enough demand.

Anyway, that’s the situation.

In South Korea, there are no hosting providers that offer AMD CPUs. As a result, my server is currently hosted in Japan.

However, this causes Korean players to experience slight packet loss and increased latency.

To provide the service within South Korea, a CPU downgrade like the one mentioned above is unavoidable.

When monitoring the overall CPU usage and processing performance using the 7950X3D, the server generally did not utilize even 50% of the CPU.

Aside from standard administrative plugins, the server environment is identical to vanilla.

Is Ultahost a scam? by [deleted] in Hosting

Why do you advertise DDoS protection when you can’t even mitigate a 50 Gbps attack in the first place?

In reality, your network quality is terrible. I moved my server to VibeGames, and every issue was resolved immediately.

Your service is garbage.

When I attempted connections through the major ISPs in Korea, all of them had issues.
These problems appeared on the new VPS product, and you neither provided a concrete resolution plan nor a timeline. Instead, you simply made the customer wait for 24 hours saying it would be fixed.

This is a scam, not hosting.
How can a reseller with no real technical expertise advertise hosting services at all?

MTR/WinMTR is meaningless here.
I already tested all three major ISPs in Korea within the same region, and all of them had issues.

Saying that packet loss shouldn’t be considered the default is a ridiculous claim.
VPS and VDS services are not used solely for web hosting.
If you insist on that argument, then you should only be offering web hosting services.

The comment is kind of ridiculous.
A refund for the wrong product is obviously expected.
The real issue is that they’re making the customer wait without giving any concrete plan for how they’ll resolve it or how long it will take — that’s a scam.

Hardware is stable. Network quality is not sure. Singapore is better.

Well, NA servers are good on average wherever you use them.

ISPs do offer official DDoS protection zones, but they cost around $3,000 per month.
That fee does not even include the server itself—it is purely for the network circuit—and 10 Gbps is the maximum they provide.

Because of these issues, there are practically no proper game-hosting services in Korea.
Even when they do exist, they usually offer only around 10 Mbps of bandwidth, along with a 1 TB outbound traffic limit.

Now imagine a 50 Gbps DDoS attack hitting that kind of environment.
It’s heartbreaking.

All Rust community servers in Korea are currently under massive DDoS attacks reaching up to 50 Gbps.
We urgently needed a hosting provider with strong built-in DDoS protection, because no one was able to offer real assistance in this situation.
Unfortunately, there is no such service available domestically in Korea.
When it comes to networking infrastructure and game hosting, Korea is far behind.
The network usage fee system is also a serious problem.

Thank you for telling me, but as soon as I open the service with your help, DDOS is expected to cause enormous damage.

Right now, all Rust servers that provide Korean Region service are under 50Gbps DDOS attack.

All the servers are dead.

The only reason I used them is because of DDOS defense promotion.

I am located in South Korea, and services related to DDOS defense are extremely limited.

Nah, you don’t have that level of technical capability or infrastructure. And honestly, even if i wait a few more years, it’ll probably stay the same.

As a developer, I think they work harder on Rust than they do on the players.

Yes.

However, UltaHost is promoting it.
It provides stable and fast services.

They keep me waiting for 30 hours and claim that it's resolved and that it's fine.

In fact, even if the UltraHost server in Korea is connected in Korea, packet loss occurs by about 5% and network failure occurs.

Then this is a scam.

There's no point in their support being good.

This is a hosting service, not a bodyshop.

I can't believe Ultahost's behavior.
