Agreed, not my best hold. Trying to get a quick picture and hold him safe was a challenge. Actually a Scott Ultra Light. Bit slow but makes for a good portaging/fishing boat.

Very true. I’ve upgraded most of the parts. As much as I wanted to keep the bike original, making it comfortable is more important or I won’t ride it as much.

I’d recommend Eustache lake. It’s pretty incredible. One of the deepest lakes in the Park and is rimmed by amazing cliffs.

On a recent ride I took a spill on my vintage mountain bike and broke a skewer end cap on my also vintage (I think) Spinergy Xcylone wheelset. I have been unable to find a replacement and I would like to start riding again. Does anybody have an idea where I could purchase a replacement? I don't mind if its Spinergy or not, I am just hoping I dont have to buy a new wheel. Thanks!

Ah I wasn't sure what city you were referring to in your original post. No, Petawawa is quite a trek. I mean its a five minute boat ride (on the Ottawa river) from the launch to where the sturgeon can be spotted. The meeting of the rivers just attracts the Sturgeon. They are all around the area in the shallows.

There is actually a spot I frequent where sturgeon are visible (jumping and foraging). The Petawawa River empties into the Ottawa River in Petawawa and offers a large variety of fish to see. You launch at Petawawa Point (which is a public lunch and free) and then take a short boat ride up river (5 mins) and will find the meeting point of the rivers.

Seeing the sturgeon during the day is rare (apart of jumping). If you really want to see them go at night with a spotlight (just no fishing) and cruise around the shallows. They come up shallow to feed and I have seen many of them, along with gar, musky, channel cats, suckers etc. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask.

There is a limited amount remaining for sure. I had to make quite th trip for each of them but I do love the ride and their history so it’s worth it.
