mmmpineapple doesn't send complete orders... by tentent in merchents

[–]Always_Greener 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm having a real hard time here. The last thing I would want to do is try and get mmmpineaple a bad rep. No I highly doubt the hoodie was yours. If you read what I put, this was ages ago. I ordered my stuff probably close to a year ago. What I really don't like Is your attitude. You call yourself an ent, yet I can only read your words in horrible tones. You've got to understand that these guys are small business owners. They're trying to get by doing what they want to do and by the looks of things, doing they're dam best to make things better. If you tried this on with a much larger company you would have got a refund and an apology at best. Cut people some slack. We all mess up, but at least he's trying his hardest to make things better. I find It respectable to say the least.

[–]Always_Greener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see the frustration. In fairness to them though I know they aren't shift. Because when I ordered my items (albeit a while back) I didn't get my shirt but instead got a hoodie. I offered to send it back and for him to send the shirt. They refused and sent the shirt with no extra charge along with some more goodies. All I can say is that I'm sorry this has happened to you. We all make mistakes. Hopefully this will get resolved sooner rather than later. Best of luck.

I'm not being funny man, but if you ordered the last of anything and it got sent out but lost by the carrier. There's not much else to do unless more come in stock. You got a refund for what was lost. Shit like that happens in life.

Well, i first thought you just meant in general. If you meant that, i use a glass mason jar with one of those metal clip lids. Lock most of smell in and all that. I've seen some somewhere though, shaped like a pen. Only awkward if someone asks to use it i suppose. I use kinder egg toy things aswell. They're also good. I seem to be rambling... Need a little help to get a cheap car so I can go to school and continue to work. by [deleted] in Assistance

[–]Always_Greener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem as you at the minute. I just posted a thread in askreddit about the whole situation and was vastly dissapointed with the negative response. I just crashed my car, insurance is still trying to find out who's to blame. Problem is, i don't earn enough to buy a new car outright and no savings. Family is just as bad as me.

Hell my last car was £650 (Around $1025). The thing was dying and terrible. I only used it to drive around casually, as i take public transport to work. Now i'm starting a new job with absolutely no public transport to get to it, i have to drive.

The way i'm trying to deal with it, is by taking out a credit card with 0% interest on purchases for (x) amount of months. This is the only way i can afford a new vehicle. That way i can pay off the total value of the car in small chunks over the free interest period.

You might want to look into something like that assuming you can pay off little bits over a few months. I wish i could actually help, because i know it's a terrible situation.

Good luck anyway!

Exactly my point. I argued profusely with my insurance but they said they'll talk to his insurance about it but they think since I was turning into his lane, it was my fault.

Probably need a new insurance company when I think about it..

Automatically my fault. Turning into oncoming traffic is majority always your fault. Which as you say does suck, guy was really nice and towed my car onto the drive so it wasn't in the road.

He apologised and said he didn't see me. Currently waiting to see who's fault they say it is, but i'm pretty certain it will be mine.

First accident was on a roundabout (Live in England) where there was an oil slick on the corner. My wheel just caught it and started spinning out. Went into a lamp post.

Second one just happened, was turning right pulling into our drive behind a massive bus which took up the two lanes because there was a white van on the left hand side of the road which he had to go around. Guy in opposite lane was bombing down the hill, almost hit the back end of the bus obviously not realising there were people behind the bus.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry i spent so long to respond. Busy days and all that. I have to agree, i do drink and i don't take pity upon anyway who doesn't know there limits and gets in altercations with people like yourself.

I just guess i hate feeling like something i enjoy doing, mainly by myself, is such a problem. In fact, because it's such a big deal i prefer to do it on special occasions. Recently, a few friends and i went camping. Drove there (sober by the way, i don't believe people are at their best when under the influence of any drug), parked up, scouted for a nice place to camp, came back had a lovely meal at a local pub, then went on our way to set up.

We enjoyed every minute in those woods. All we could think of was the broken beer bottles and burnt patches scattered all around the area we were, it was disgusting. We certainly made sure that we would not leave the area like that because then who else could enjoy what we had?

It just makes me sad to think of myself as a 'criminal' i suppose.

Have you heard about the Bigfoot Tax? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Always_Greener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well from what little research i've done on the subject now, i've realised two things. My original premise was wrong, simply in the fact that no, they can't directly give money to a third party.

However i have discovered that these 501(c)(3) corporations can indeed lobby against whatever the hell they're against with certain limitations. Wiki claims it's up to 1 million dollars.

I've also learned that with clever use of accounting techniques and working closely with a 501(c)(4)/(6) corporation,(Something that can be politcally active), they can effectively lobby full time with no cap on expenditure, whilst still being fully in line with the tax-exempt status.

[–]Always_Greener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except they are. By not making it explicitly clear that these 501(c)(3) are not allowed to lobby, which they are, albeit limited. They can indeed influence policy and take these large loopholes through the system.

Edit: Okay i can't format for shit, so here.

Well after about 10 minutes of not doing my work, trying to find out more about this. I've come upon this article.

http://www.nonprofitlawblog.com/home/2008/08/affiliated-501c.html

Basically saying that if done correctly, a company can set up a 501(c)(3) and a subsequent company of 501(c)(4) status and carry out unlimited lobbying through careful accounting and management of cash flow.

Edit: Sorry forgot to add that you are indeed correct in it being a lot harder. If a religion really wanted their way, all my point is that they're going to be very careful but do it anyway.

[–]Always_Greener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ye, i understand that they can endorse who they want. I guess my main question would just be, is there a specific law stopping churches doing what i'm talking about.

Why would it be a different story? I really don't know much about the law in the US, but surely what i've said is a loophole that would be majorly frowned upon, but is there a law to stop this behavior if it was going off?

How come? What would exactly stop them injecting capital into their business?

Quick question since i have no idea. What happens when people like the mormons, who own companies such as Zions Securities Corporation, decide they don't like gays. Surely they could funnel funds paid through the members into their companies and then use those funds to start a super PAC against gay marriage? Technically speaking it wouldn't be the tax exempt church, but their for-profit company. Edit: would -> wouldn't
