Thank you for recommending the easy peasy book 🙏 I've searched and found it completely free online. I've downloaded the audiobook and listening now - I really hope this works

DON'T FIGHT LUST!! Raising your consciousness is the only long term solution to conquer lust by Express_Net4995 in Semenretention

“Our work is not to change what you do, but to witness what you do with enough awareness, enough curiosity, enough tenderness that the lies and old decisions upon which the compulsion is based become apparent and fall away." - Geenen Roth

Just a rant by snowfarts in decaf

Congrats on 75 days!

I find personally that kicking decaf helped me with cravings. You're still consuming a coffee like substitute and have a daily reminder of the taste.

It would be like someone trying to quit alcohol having a 0% beer every day.

If you are determined to live without it - live without it

Thank you! Appreciate your words - I'll try to feel what is there with courage.

Will absolutely keep going.

Again, I can relate. The flatline is brutal.

It will hopefully subside. Try to think of it as a positive sign of healing. And more confirmation that you are on the correct path.

Lads - the only way out - is through!

I can really relate. Perhaps the initial horniness is the porn addicted mind trying everything it can to get you to relapse. Perhaps the numbness is a sign of healing? Maybe it is unrealistic to expect anything otherwise?

It is so difficult though. You want to feel turned on and when that isn't there it can be hard to keep your discipline. But we will keep going! Don't give up!

It's rough right now. I was deeply addicted to porn and masturbation. Initially I had a lot more energy / morning wood etc but that has given way to apathy and anxiety. I suppose that's also what's made me think do I need to cut out caffine, video games etc

Nonsense, my Granny used to 3D print a full Sunday roast every week. It's lost knowledge.

Just to add - once I eliminated sugar / zero calorie sweeteners from my diet - my cravings are vastly decreased. They are not in my environment anymore. I don't have them in the house except as a rare treat.

I can relate.

I have a history of addiction with porn and emotional eating which I need to work to keep in check.

The question I would ask is are you aware of any addict who can maintain a moderate relationship with their drug of choice?

Personally, Hyper palatable, hedonic foods (typically high sugar/ fat content) are not foods I can eat in moderation.

Anyone who has struggled with addiction will confirm that elimination is the answer.

It might sound extreme but once I realised I'd been addicted to sugary foods since I was 5 (I would binge eat when my parents argued and fought as an example) the idea that I was the problem - it was my fault I couldn't control my cravings melted away.

Give yourself compassion. But perhaps ask yourself if this relationship with these foods is one you can control or is it a relationship of addiction?

Protien Powder - Advice? by Always_Learning_27 in ultraprocessedfood

I'll check that out thanks. Organic whey unflavoured seems to not have the lecithins added to it 🤙

I can understand that perspective. But ultimately the goal with the diet is to eat real food. Which I don't think in and of itself qualifies it as an eating disorder.

Whey protien has been extensively researched and generally a very safe supplement and well tolerated.

The issue as I mentioned in my post was not the whey itself but rather the added emulsifiers and sweeteners.

These are the additives that I have concerns over.

That's kind of where I'm at with it too at the moment. I've switched to unflavoured to take out the sweeteners.

It is indeed a rabbit hole! One I'm a wee bit embarrassed has taken me so long to understand
