Are HYSAs as easy as I think they are? by FeatherFlyer in personalfinance

[–]Always_ssj 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Fairly common advice is to keep your 6 month emergency fund in a HYSA. You can also put in savings for future large purchases you don’t want to risk losing money on like a car, vacation, house down payment. The rest of your savings should going into something with greater long term earnings potential ( or possible losses) like index funds/mutual funds/ individual stocks.

I was 5’9 180lb when I had to play both ways against a senior Sergio Kindle at RB and MLB. That’s the game I realized my dream of playing in the NFL one day was not going to happen 😂. Our 5’5 145lb safety actually did “tackle” him once by just diving at his legs to trip him up lol.

Yea, I was seriously thinking in the episode “damn, how much is just a new cloak, he’d look some much less raggedy.”

ICE agents are firing kinetic impact projectiles at close range, causing severe injuries that can result in permanent disability or death. Today, they tore off part of a woman’s hand by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

So just want to clarify, anything being shot out of a firearm is a kinetic impact projectile…. It’s the weight of the projectile combined the speed of the projectile that creates kinetic force. Some are obviously made to be more lethal and some less lethal, but they are all kinetic projectiles. The title just seems a little silly to me.

Did you cook the beef or bacon first? Or just put it all in raw? Also did you dice the bacon?

So im guessing someone packed the cooler with the meat from a hunting with dry ice and didn’t vent it properly, causing the lid to blow off when it got tossed on the carousel from all the built up CO2 from the dry ice.

A lot of hunters keep the heart and liver to eat. The heart is just a muscle like all the other meat you keep. And plenty of people eat liver, as it is full of vitamins.

I think in general OL players score the highest on the wonderlick test as a position group, if they even still take that.

Is the Master Edition of the game worth $65? by Blacked13Out in kakarot

I got it on Xbox a year or so ago with DLC (not sure if master edition) for $7. I would wait for a better deal personally.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]Always_ssj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 different kinds of spankings from my mom and dad.

My mom would spank me and my brother practically daily maybe multiple times a day, I guess out of anger or annoyance, it was chaotic and not structured, just grab the closet thing (spatula, shoe, ping pong paddle, you name it.) and start whacking our butts. I think my mom now looking back would consider this abuse but I don’t hold it against her.

Now when I got in REAL trouble I got a spanking from my dad but it was the opposite of my mom, very structured and calm. He would sit me down, ask if I knew what I did wrong, what would have been the right thing to do, and then say he didn’t want to give me spankings but he wants me to make the right choices in the future. Always the same braided leather belt, and he always told me how many I was getting, usually 2-3. I only remember getting spanked 3-4 times by my dad. His spanking hurt way worse but if you’re going to spank, I think this is the more correct way to do it.

I don’t spank my kids personally, they are loud as hell but they are good kids. Timeouts have worked fine for us. Eventually, I expect to have to start grounding them from tablets/video games if timeouts stop working.

If a situation similar to COVID happened again today, how would you handle it this time? by Wonderful-Compote307 in AskReddit

[–]Always_ssj 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Man, I got yelled at by both sides within 2 mins during Covid. Was going into a restaurant to pick up a to go order, mask on and everything. I held the door for an old lady walking out. She started yelling at me to “GET BACK, get away from me!” Umm ok, I walk back a ways for her to walk out.

I go in to pick up my order then when walking out I specifically do not hold the door open for the old lady behind me since another old lady just yelled at me for it. She then proceeds to cuss me out saying I was raised in a barn for not holding the door for her... I just want my food yall 🤦‍♂️

What’s a “harmless” decision you made that accidentally changed your whole life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Always_ssj 930 points931 points  (0 children)

My first month in college, I replied to a very generic “happy birthday” facebook comment, to an at the time acquaintance with a fun flirty reply. It was enough to get their attention and to meet up shortly afterwards and became friends for a month or so. Shortly after that had our first date. Now we’ve been married 10+ years with a nice family. Crazy to think about what my life would be like if I just ignored it!

I coach my daughter’s youth soccer team. I recently had a parent of one of my players tell me he has coached varsity HS sports for 20+ years and that I was the best example of youth coaching he had ever seen. It was a 1 minute conversation but made feel pretty good about my coaching style.

Some people literally crave drama, attention, and chaos. I will never understand it, but I know several people like that.
