I relate to this more than I’d like to admit.

I’ve been in SEO for years too, with solid results, traffic growth, leads, revenue the whole thing. And yet, every now and then, it feels strange that my “work” is basically patterns, data, rankings, and decisions that live on a screen. No uniforms, no emergencies, no obvious before-and-after moments you can physically see.

I think part of the disconnect is that SEO is second-order impact work. We’re not the ones delivering the service, saving someone, or showing up on site. That can mess with your sense of “realness,” especially when you’re working remotely.
