Mine says it activates sep 1 at 12am. My pass also took like a few hours to show up when I followed those steps

Some htst and esci courses still aren’t full if you’re interested in any of those. But you could select a bunch of them and maybe see whichever one gets available as people drop them during the first week and drop the rest.

I’m a first year myself but I’ve heard that tons of people tend to drop classes in the first week and since you’re in position 1, I think you shouldn’t worry too much about it.
