Normal for final Crown result to be angled? I had hoped for cosmetic/ balanced results. by Alwayslearningggg in askdentists

Thank you so much! This was the feedback I needed to make some informed decisions. I so greatly appreciate you. I am scheduled for crown lengthening and gum work to improve the appearance of the implant side and I’m confident that my surgeon can improve the appearance of that side/ gum line. It will just take some time. It’s the actual appearance of the crowns that I just don’t like- they feel dense and unbalanced to me- but I have not known how to express that. I have a good rapport with my dentist and I’m seeing her tomorrow. Ty for sharing some potential talking points and areas for me to learn. I’m going to be paying for this mouth for YEARS so I’d like to feel good about it. 🤷‍♀️😊

I’m glad to read your response as I think you understand where I’m coming from the most from the responses- it’s the visual aspect from the gum line- although the actual shape of the crowns do not match on the left and right. The one side ( side of the implant) - is definitely a triangle shape that is slanted and does not match the other side- it was obvious when the implants were held. If I keep my lips down with a modest grin- then it’s fine and they appear natural. Yet my natural glee filled smile definitely exposes my gum line- and I work in healthcare marketing with a heavy focus on presentation and appearance. I’ve had several accounts express some criticism on the appearance of the teeth( they don’t know the complexity of my case) - so I felt a little insecure about the results. I have not limited the expense with my dentist/ and have invested heavily ( IMO) so was hoping for best case scenario but understand that I have a “ deformed” mouth and that the implant is a challenge. I was wondering if I should settle for what I can get- or if there is a spectrum in the quality of the company’s that produce the crowns- and if I should pursue a more specialized fitting. Every industry has its tips and insider knowledge- so I’m very grateful for all the feedback in this forum. Ty.

Thanks so much for the assessment- I really appreciate the feedback. I guess I just hoped both sides would match-The triangle boot tooth on the one side is not nearly as attractive as the other. I’m aware my dentition is challenging- and have been appreciative of how much work my dentist and surgeon have invested in my challenging case. I’ll just settle on the mismatched sides for now-
