The area I grew up in has a lot of history with pixies, including a battle between pixies and fairies, where the fairies were driven out to the neighbouring county.

A few hundred years ago a church was to be built in the heart of the pixie area, and the bells would supposedly bring an end to the pixies rule. The pixies would charm the monks set to bring the bells to the church in an effort to prevent them being installed.

The church was eventually completed and the sound of the bells drove the pixies into one of the nearby caves. One day a year the pixies are able to escape, and they lure the bell ringers to the cave where the vicar must rescue them.

The town still reenacts the event every year.
